Description

This market will resolve to "Yes" if the official "Close" price for Amazon (AMZN) on the trading day specified in the title is strictly higher than the price specified in the title. A "Close" exactly equal to the specified price resolves to "No". If the market is not open on the specified day (exchange holiday or unscheduled closure), or Amazon (AMZN) does not trade at all during that day's regular session, this market resolves 50-50 — each side is paid at half value; this is not a refund. In the event of a stock split, reverse stock split, or similar corporate action affecting Amazon (AMZN), this market resolves on split-adjusted prices, and the price specified in the title is adjusted proportionally. The resolution source for this market is Yahoo Finance, specifically the Amazon (AMZN) "Close" prices available at https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/AMZN/ under "Historical Prices". If that data is unavailable due to an outage or other technical disruption, the official price published by the primary exchange on which Amazon (AMZN) trades governs.

Currently, prediction market participants believe there is a significant chance Amazon’s stock will meet the threshold by the specified date. This contrasts with traditional analyst forecasts, which often rely on financial modeling and company reports. While analysts may provide price targets and recommendations, this market represents the collective wisdom of individuals incentivized to accurately predict the outcome. It’s important to remember that both approaches have their strengths and weaknesses, and this market offers a different perspective on potential future performance than you might find in conventional financial analysis.

On Opinion, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell contracts representing their belief about the future stock price. The price of these contracts directly reflects the probability of the event occurring. On Opinion, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market price is determined by supply and demand; if more traders believe the stock will be above the threshold, the price will rise, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market constantly adapts to new information and reflects the latest collective intelligence of participants.

This market resolves around Oct 19, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the resolution will be based on the closing price of Amazon stock on October 19, 2026. If the closing price is above the predetermined level, the market will settle in favor of the 'yes' outcome. If it is at or below that level, the market will settle in favor of the 'no' outcome. The precise level is defined within the market details on Opinion.

Several factors could significantly influence this market between now and Oct 19, 2026. Major company announcements from Amazon, such as quarterly earnings reports, new product launches, or significant strategic shifts, would likely cause price fluctuations. Broader economic indicators, like inflation rates, interest rate changes, and overall market sentiment, could also play a role. Unexpected geopolitical events or industry-specific disruptions could also impact investor confidence and, consequently, the price in this market. Any news that alters perceptions of Amazon’s future growth prospects is likely to move the market.
