These markets track what percentage of the vote Francesca Hong receives in the 2026 Wisconsin Democratic gubernatorial primary election. Each market resolves based on whether her certified vote share meets or exceeds a specific threshold, from 20% up to 55%.
Resolution is based on Francesca Hong's certified percentage of the popular vote in the 2026 Wisconsin Democratic gubernatorial primary, calculated as (total votes received ÷ total valid votes cast) × 100. Valid votes include write-in votes appearing in certified results; invalid, spoiled, or rejected ballots are excluded from both numerator and denominator. Resolution uses only certified/official results, not preliminary counts. If multiple voting rounds occur (such as ranked choice voting), the percentage is based on the specified round or the first round if not specified. Each market resolves to Yes if Hong's certified percentage meets or exceeds its threshold (20%, 25%, 30%, 35%, 40%, 45%, 50%, or 55%, inclusive). If the election is cancelled, postponed beyond the market expiration date, or no certified results are available by expiration, the market resolves to No. If a recount changes the certified percentage before expiration, the most recent certified percentage determines the outcome.
Prediction markets and traditional polls measure candidate support through different mechanisms. Polls ask voters directly about their preferences at a single moment, while this market aggregates the collective financial commitments of traders betting on Hong's actual vote share outcome. Prediction markets often incorporate polling data alongside campaign developments, fundraising, and insider signals that polls may lag in capturing. Over time, markets have shown competitive accuracy against polls for electoral outcomes, though both tools provide complementary perspectives on candidate viability and voter sentiment.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order-book mechanism where traders buy and sell shares corresponding to Hong's vote-share outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current odds reflect the consensus probability among active traders, with prices ranging between 0 and 100 based on perceived likelihood. As new campaign news, polling releases, or endorsements emerge, traders adjust their positions, causing the price to move dynamically. Higher prices indicate stronger trader conviction that Hong will exceed the vote-share threshold, while lower prices suggest skepticism about her performance in the primary.
This market resolves around Aug 11, 2027, once the Wisconsin Democratic gubernatorial primary election has concluded and results are verified against credible public sources. The outcome will be determined by the official vote share percentage that Hong receives in the primary contest. Traders holding positions aligned with the final result will be paid out according to the market's payout structure, while those on the opposite side will see their positions expire worthless. Resolution timing may shift slightly if official results are delayed or subject to recount procedures.
Several catalysts could shift odds significantly before the primary concludes. Major polling releases showing Hong gaining or losing ground would likely trigger immediate price movement, as would significant endorsements from party leaders or high-profile figures. Campaign spending announcements, debate performances, and media coverage of her policy positions or record could also influence trader sentiment. Unexpected candidate entries or withdrawals from the race, fundraising milestones, and grassroots momentum indicators would provide fresh information that traders incorporate into their positions. Late-breaking scandals or gaffes involving Hong or her opponents could create sharp repricing as the election date approaches.
