This group forecasts the winner of the Bosniak seat on the tripartite Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 2026 general election. The Presidency rotates among the three main ethnic groups: Bosniak, Serb, and Croat. This market focuses solely on the Bosniak member election.
The Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina is a three-member collective head of state, consisting of one Bosniak member, one Croat member, and one Serb member. The Bosniak and Croat members are elected from the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, while the Serb member is elected from Republika Srpska. General elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina are scheduled to be held on October 4, 2026. This market will resolve according to the listed individual elected to serve as the Bosniak member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina as a result of this election. Interim, temporary, or caretaker Presidency members will not count. If no such Presidency member has been elected by March 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "Other". The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina (izbori.ba); however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
Each market resolves to Yes only if the specific named candidate wins the 2026 election for the Bosniak member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina. All markets are eligible for accelerated resolution through a consensus of media calls confirming the election outcome.
Prediction market odds, like those found in this market, often offer a different perspective than traditional polling averages. Polls capture stated preferences, while this market reflects what individuals are willing to *stake* on an outcome. This can lead to more accurate forecasts, as traders have a financial incentive to be correct. While polls can be useful for understanding public sentiment, the aggregated wisdom of the crowd in a prediction market can sometimes provide a more insightful signal, especially as the election draws nearer and more information becomes available. The current volume of $61,636 suggests strong interest in this event.
Prices on Polymarket and Kalshi may differ due to several factors. Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform has its own user base, trading rules, and liquidity, which can all influence price discovery. Differences in the types of traders participating on each platform – some may be more informed or have different risk tolerances – can also contribute to price discrepancies. Furthermore, the volume traded on each platform varies; Polymarket has seen a higher volume of $61,636 than Kalshi for this event, potentially impacting price sensitivity. These differences are normal and reflect the dynamic nature of prediction markets.
This market resolves around Nov 2, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The outcome will be determined by the official results announced by the relevant electoral authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, establishing who has been elected as the Bosniak President of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The market will reflect the official winner declared by these sources, providing a clear and objective resolution based on the established electoral process. Traders should monitor news sources for updates as the election approaches.
Several signals could significantly impact this market. Major developments in the campaigns of leading candidates, such as policy announcements or significant endorsements, could shift trader sentiment. Unexpected political alliances or scandals involving key figures could also cause price fluctuations. Changes in polling data, while not always directly correlated, can influence market participants. Finally, any geopolitical events impacting Bosnia and Herzegovina in the lead-up to the election could introduce volatility. With a resolution date of Nov 2, 2026, these factors will be closely watched by traders.
