Prediction markets and traditional polls measure different things: polls typically capture public opinion or expert forecasts at a single moment, while this market aggregates real-money bets from traders who face direct financial consequences for accuracy. Market odds often diverge from polling because traders incorporate breaking news, legal filings, and shifting political dynamics faster than survey samples can be refreshed. For this event, comparing the current market probability to any available expert commentary or news-driven expectations can reveal whether traders are pricing in scenarios that conventional analysis may have overlooked.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order-book mechanism where traders submit bids and asks, and the midpoint reflects the consensus probability. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Shares trade between 0 and 100 cents, with each cent representing a 1% probability increment. As new information emerges—such as court rulings, legislative action, or executive announcements—traders adjust their positions, causing the price to move. This real-time repricing ensures the odds remain responsive to developments that could influence whether additional files are released by the specified deadline.
This market resolves around Aug 1, 2026, at which point the outcome will be confirmed based on credible public reporting and verifiable evidence of whether additional Epstein files were released during July 2026. The resolution hinges on documented disclosure of previously unreleased materials, whether through court order, executive action, or official government channels. Traders should monitor news sources, legal databases, and official statements throughout the resolution window to understand how the final determination will be made.
Key catalysts include congressional hearings or legislative proposals demanding document release, court rulings on FOIA requests or sealed filings, executive orders directing declassification, and media investigations uncovering new legal pressure. Political shifts in Washington, changes in judicial oversight of related cases, and statements from key officials could all shift trader expectations significantly. Additionally, any developments in ongoing litigation involving the named individuals or institutions could create urgency around disclosure, causing sharp repricing as traders reassess the likelihood of a July 2026 release.
