A "full lid" at the White House is an official announcement indicating that the President's public activities for the day have concluded and no further public events, appearances, or news are expected. This market will resolve to “Yes” if the White House Press Office calls a full lid for the specified date by 6:30 PM ET on that date. Otherwise, this market will resolve to “No”. Only a full lid will qualify; lunch lids, intermissions, or any other press lid not explicitly listed as a full lid will not be sufficient to qualify this market towards a "Yes" resolution. A qualifying full lid may be reported by the resolution sources through 11:59 PM ET on the following day, provided the source indicates that it was called by the 6:30 PM ET cutoff. This market will resolve according to the time listed by Roll Call of the first full lid called in the daily calendar (https://rollcall.com/factbase/trump/calendar/). If Roll Call does not list a lid time or is for any reason unavailable, this market will resolve according to Forth (https://www.forth.news/whpool).

While public polls measure stated public opinion through direct voter responses, this market reflects trader expectations about an administrative decision based on real-time information and insider signals. The difference can arise because market participants may have access to additional context — such as scheduled events, staff movements, or media briefings — that isn’t captured in traditional surveys. Consequently, this market often diverges from polling averages, especially when events unfold rapidly in the days leading to Sep 5, 2026.
On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. On Polymarket, traders set the odds through buying and selling shares that represent possible outcomes. The current implied probability reflects the collective judgment of all participants on that venue. Liquidity and volume of $8,350 help determine how tightly priced the market is, with higher volume typically leading to smaller spreads and more stable pricing as Sep 5, 2026 approaches.
This market resolves around Sep 5, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Traders will watch official White House announcements, press briefings, and reputable news sources for confirmation of whether a full lid was declared by the specified deadline. The market settles based on publicly available evidence, not internal assessments or speculation.
Key signals include official White House schedule releases, last-minute staff announcements, emergency briefing conventions, and any public statements from administration officials suggesting a change in plans. Geopolitical developments, domestic crises, or unexpected delays in presidential activities could also shift trader sentiment. As Sep 5, 2026 nears, any indication — even indirect — that the President’s public schedule will or won’t pause for a full lid can cause rapid price adjustments on Polymarket.
