Platinum prices are sensitive to industrial demand, particularly from automotive and jewelry sectors, as well as supply disruptions from major producers like South Africa. Central bank policy shifts and currency strength affect precious metal valuations. Geopolitical tensions, mining strikes, or inventory reports can trigger sharp moves. Broader risk sentiment—equities rallies or recessions—influences platinum as both an industrial commodity and safe-haven asset. Technical levels, options expiry clustering, and fund positioning also drive short-term volatility. Monitoring these catalysts helps traders anticipate whether platinum will sustain above the 1,943.0 threshold through June 5 at 14:00 UTC.
