Description

This market will resolve to "Yes" if the Close price for Microsoft Corporation (MSFT) on the final day of trading of the week specified in the title (normally Friday) is higher than the listed price. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No." If the two specified prices are exactly equal, this market will resolve to "No". Closing prices will be used exactly as published by Pyth, without rounding. If Microsoft Corporation (MSFT) does not trade at all during the regular session of the final trading day of the week, the market will resolve 50-50. For a standard full trading session, the closing price refers to the Pyth "Close" value of the 1-minute candle corresponding to the final minute of regular trading hours on the primary exchange. If the relevant session is shortened (for example, due to a market-holiday schedule), the Pyth "Close" value of the 1-minute candle corresponding to the final minute of that shortened session will be used. If the relevant day has no valid Pyth Close value for the 1-minute candle corresponding to the end of regular trading hours on the primary exchange, the market will use the last valid Pyth price achieved during the regular trading hours of the primary exchange as the effective closing price. If no valid Pyth price exists for that trading day due to a system outage, data failure, or other technical disruption, the official closing price published by the primary exchange on which the listed security trades will be used to determine the closing price for that day. In the event of a stock split, reverse stock split, or similar corporate action affecting the listed security during the listed time frame, this market will resolve based on split-adjusted prices as displayed on Pyth. The target price will be adjusted proportionally to reflect any stock splits. Resolution will be based on the historical price data as shown on Pyth after any adjustments have been applied. The resolution source for this market will be Pyth, specifically the "Close" values for the relevant 1-minute candle for Microsoft Corporation (MSFT) available at https://pythdata.app/explore/Equity.US.MSFT%2FUSD.

Frequently asked questions

The MSFT weekly price market dashboard on Polymarket tracks real-time odds and trading activity for whether Microsoft's stock will close above a specified price level during the week ending Jul 17, 2026. The interface displays current market probability, historical price movements, and volume of $3,478 across all positions. Traders use this data to monitor sentiment shifts and identify entry or exit points. The dashboard updates continuously as new trades execute, giving participants a live view of how the market is pricing Microsoft's near-term price action relative to the threshold.

Prediction market odds reflect real-money bets from traders and often diverge from traditional analyst price targets. While equity analysts publish formal forecasts based on fundamental research, this market aggregates the collective judgment of participants who have direct financial incentive to be accurate. Prediction markets typically react faster to breaking news and sentiment shifts than consensus analyst updates. Comparing the implied probability here to published analyst sentiment on Microsoft can reveal whether the market is pricing in more bullish or bearish expectations than the research community consensus.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker that converts trader positions into real-time probabilities. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders buy or sell shares representing "yes" or "no" outcomes, and the price of each share reflects the current odds. As volume flows in one direction, the price adjusts automatically to balance supply and demand. This mechanism ensures continuous liquidity and allows participants to enter or exit positions at transparent, market-determined rates throughout the trading period.

This market resolves around Jul 17, 2026, once the trading week concludes and Microsoft's closing stock price is finalized. The outcome is determined by comparing the final price to the specified threshold and verified against credible public sources. Traders holding the winning outcome receive their payout, while losing positions expire worthless. Resolution is automatic once the data is confirmed, ensuring all participants see the same definitive result.

Earnings announcements, product launches, regulatory news, and macroeconomic data releases can all shift trader sentiment and move this market significantly. Broader tech sector momentum, changes in interest rates, and competitive developments also influence Microsoft's near-term price action. Unexpected corporate news or management commentary may trigger rapid repricing. Additionally, shifts in market-wide risk appetite and sector rotation can push the stock above or below the threshold. Traders monitor these catalysts closely to adjust their positions ahead of resolution.
