This group asks whether Microsoft will exceed the consensus earnings per share (EPS) estimate for a given quarterly report. The resolution hinges on comparing Microsoft's reported GAAP EPS to a pre-defined strike price of $4.82. Both platforms specify SeekingAlpha as a fallback source if official earnings documents lack GAAP EPS.
As of market creation, Microsoft is estimated to release earnings on October 28, 2026. The Street consensus estimate for Microsoft's GAAP EPS for the relevant quarter is $4.82 as of market creation. This market will resolve to "Yes" if Microsoft reports GAAP EPS greater than $4.82 for the relevant quarter in its next quarterly earnings release. Otherwise, it will resolve to "No." The resolution source will be the GAAP EPS listed in the company’s official earnings documents. If Microsoft releases earnings without GAAP EPS, then the market will resolve according to the GAAP EPS figure reported by SeekingAlpha. If no such figure is published within 96h of market close (4:00:00pm ET) on the day earnings are announced, the market will resolve to “No”. If the company does not release earnings within 45 calendar days of the estimated earnings date, this market will resolve to “No.” Note: Subsequent restatements, corrections, or revisions made to the initially announced GAAP EPS figure will not qualify for resolution, except in the case of obvious and immediate mistakes (e.g., fat finger errors, as with Lyft's (LYFT) earnings release in February 2024). Note: The strike prices used in these markets reflect the selected street consensus estimate for GAAP EPS as of market creation. Note: All figures will be rounded to the nearest cent using standard rounding. Note: For the purposes of this market, IFRS EPS will be treated as GAAP EPS. Note: GAAP EPS refers to diluted GAAP EPS, unless this is not published, in which case it refers to basic GAAP EPS. Note: All figures are expressed in USD, unless otherwise indicated. Note: For primarily internationally listed companies, this market refers specifically to the shares traded in the United States on U.S. stock exchanges such as the NYSE or Nasdaq. In cases where the company trades in the U.S. through an American Depositary Receipt (ADR) or American Depositary Share (ADS), this market will refer to the ADR/ADS.

Prediction market odds often offer a different perspective than traditional analyst forecasts. While analysts provide estimates based on models and research, this market reflects the wisdom of the crowd, incorporating a broader range of information and potential catalysts. The current price action suggests traders are weighing factors that may not be fully captured in standard financial analysis. Discrepancies can arise due to differing methodologies and the ability of market participants to rapidly adjust their views based on new information. This can provide a valuable signal, potentially identifying areas where the market anticipates outcomes that diverge from consensus expectations.
Prices on Polymarket and Predict for this market can diverge due to several factors. Polymarket and Predict can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform attracts different user bases with varying risk appetites and information access, which influences trading behavior. Additionally, trading volume and liquidity can vary significantly between the two, impacting price discovery. Market-specific rules and fee structures on Polymarket and Predict can also contribute to price discrepancies. Finally, differing interpretations of available information regarding Microsoft’s expected performance can lead to divergent probabilities.
This market is scheduled to resolve around Oct 28, 2026. The outcome will be determined by whether Microsoft’s reported quarterly earnings exceed analysts’ expectations at the time of the earnings release. Verification will be based on publicly available financial reports and confirmed through credible public reporting. Traders will be able to see the final outcome reflected in the market results once the data is officially released and independently verified, establishing a clear record of whether Microsoft met or exceeded expectations.
Several signals or events could significantly impact this market. Unexpected macroeconomic data releases, such as inflation reports or GDP figures, could influence investor sentiment towards technology stocks like Microsoft. Company-specific news, including announcements about new products, partnerships, or regulatory changes, would also be major catalysts. Furthermore, analyst upgrades or downgrades, and even broader market trends, can all contribute to price fluctuations. Any information that alters expectations about Microsoft’s future performance has the potential to shift the odds in this market.
