Description

As of market creation, General Dynamics is estimated to release earnings on July 22, 2026. The Street consensus estimate for General Dynamics's GAAP EPS for the relevant quarter is $3.94 as of market creation. This market will resolve to "Yes" if General Dynamics reports GAAP EPS greater than $3.94 for the relevant quarter in its next quarterly earnings release. Otherwise, it will resolve to "No." The resolution source will be the GAAP EPS listed in the company’s official earnings documents. If General Dynamics releases earnings without GAAP EPS, then the market will resolve according to the GAAP EPS figure reported by SeekingAlpha. If no such figure is published within 96h of market close (4:00:00pm ET) on the day earnings are announced, the market will resolve to “No”. If the company does not release earnings within 45 calendar days of the estimated earnings date, this market will resolve to “No.” Note: Subsequent restatements, corrections, or revisions made to the initially announced GAAP EPS figure will not qualify for resolution, except in the case of obvious and immediate mistakes (e.g., fat finger errors, as with Lyft's (LYFT) earnings release in February 2024). Note: The strike prices used in these markets are derived from SeekingAlpha estimates, and reflect the consensus of sell-side analyst estimates for GAAP EPS. Note: All figures will be rounded to the nearest cent using standard rounding. Note: For the purposes of this market, IFRS EPS will be treated as GAAP EPS. Note: For the purposes of this market, GAAP EPS refers to diluted GAAP EPS, unless this is not published, in which case it refers to basic GAAP EPS. Note: All figures are expressed in USD, unless otherwise indicated. Note: For primarily internationally listed companies, this market refers specifically to the shares traded in the United States on U.S. stock exchanges such as the NYSE or Nasdaq. In cases where the company trades in the U.S. through an American Depositary Receipt (ADR) or American Depositary Share (ADS), this market will refer to the ADR/ADS.

Frequently asked questions

On Polymarket, the General Dynamics earnings beat market dashboard displays real-time odds and historical price movements for whether GD will exceed consensus earnings expectations in its next quarterly report. The interface shows current market probability, 24-hour volume of $925, and a price chart reflecting how trader sentiment has evolved. This market aggregates the collective forecast of participants betting on whether the defense contractor's actual earnings per share will surpass analyst consensus estimates. Volume and price history help traders assess liquidity and conviction levels among the prediction market community.

Prediction market odds often diverge from traditional Wall Street consensus because they reflect real-money incentives and crowd wisdom rather than a single analyst's model. While sell-side earnings estimates are typically conservative and updated infrequently, this market prices in live information, insider sentiment, and forward guidance shifts throughout the quarter. Traders who believe General Dynamics will beat consensus have already moved odds higher or lower based on recent company communications, industry trends, and macroeconomic signals. Comparing the market's implied probability to the median analyst estimate can reveal whether the crowd expects a surprise in either direction.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker that converts trader orders into real-time probabilities. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Participants buy or sell shares representing "Yes" (GD beats earnings) or "No" (GD misses or meets consensus), with the share price directly reflecting the market's belief in each outcome. As traders place orders, the price adjusts dynamically, allowing new participants to enter at the current odds. The spread between bid and ask prices typically tightens as volume increases, making it easier to trade large positions without significant slippage.

This market resolves around Jul 22, 2026, once General Dynamics reports its quarterly earnings and the results are verified against credible public sources. The outcome hinges on whether the company's reported earnings per share exceeds the consensus estimate that was in effect at the time the market was created. Resolution is binary: if actual EPS beats the benchmark, "Yes" shares pay out; if it meets or falls short, "No" shares pay out. Traders should monitor the company's earnings announcement date and any pre-release guidance updates that may shift expectations.

Several catalysts can shift odds before resolution. Forward guidance from General Dynamics management, defense spending announcements, or geopolitical developments affecting defense contractors may alter earnings expectations. Competitor earnings reports and broader macroeconomic data—interest rates, inflation, supply chain updates—can influence investor sentiment toward the sector. Analyst estimate revisions, particularly if multiple firms raise or lower their targets, often trigger sharp repricing. Insider trading activity, earnings whisper numbers, and options market positioning can also signal where sophisticated traders expect the outcome to land, creating feedback loops that move this market.
