This market will resolve to "Yes" if Chevron's oil-equivalent barrels per day net production (koebd) for the upcoming second fiscal quarter, as reported in its official company earnings materials, is above the listed amount. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". The specified metric will be considered as reported in the company's official earnings materials. Subsequent revisions will not be considered. If the specified company's official earnings materials for the specified quarter are released, and the specified metric is not included, this market will resolve to "No". If the specified company does not release quarterly earnings materials for the specified quarter by August 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "No". If the specified metric is reported as a range rather than a specific number, the midpoint of the range will be used for resolution of this market. The resolution source for this market is the specified company's official company earnings materials, including press releases, investor presentations, and regulatory filings. If the specified metric is not reported in these materials, recordings or transcripts of the company's earnings webcast may also be used. Prediction market odds reflect the collective assessment of traders betting real capital, often incorporating forward-looking signals that traditional analyst consensus may lag. Equity analysts typically publish quarterly production estimates based on company guidance, operational updates, and historical trends, while this market prices in live market data and breaking news. The gap between the two can reveal where traders see upside or downside risk relative to published forecasts. Comparing the implied probability here to consensus estimates helps identify whether the market is pricing in production headwinds or tailwinds that analysts have not yet fully reflected.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker that converts trader buy and sell orders into real-time odds. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders purchase shares representing "yes" or "no" outcomes, and the price of each share reflects the collective probability assigned by the market. As new information emerges—such as production reports, operational announcements, or commodity price moves—traders adjust positions, shifting the odds in real time. The continuous repricing mechanism ensures the market reflects the latest available information on Chevron's expected Q2 output.
This market resolves around Jul 31, 2026, once Chevron's official Q2 production figures become available and verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome is determined by comparing the company's reported net production in oil-equivalent barrels per day against the threshold specified in the market. Traders holding the correct outcome receive their payout once the data is confirmed and the market is settled. Resolution typically follows Chevron's earnings announcement or investor presentation disclosing second-quarter operational results.
Key catalysts include unplanned maintenance or outages at Chevron's major production facilities, geopolitical disruptions affecting offshore operations, and commodity price swings that influence production economics. Quarterly production updates, management commentary on capital discipline, and changes to operational guidance can shift trader expectations significantly. Regulatory announcements, environmental incidents, or workforce actions may also impact near-term output. Additionally, broader energy market trends—such as crude oil price volatility or demand shocks—often influence trader positioning on upstream production forecasts ahead of the final Q2 report.
