This market will resolve to "Yes" if the official closing price for Apple (AAPL) on the final trading day of July 2026 is higher than the listed price. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". If the final trading day of the month is shortened (for example, due to a market-holiday schedule), the official closing price published for that shortened session will still be used for resolution. If no official closing price is published for that session (for example, due to a trading halt into the close, system issue, or other disruption), the market will use the last valid on-exchange trade price of the regular session as the effective closing price. The resolution source for this market is Yahoo Finance — specifically, the Apple (AAPL) "Close" prices available at https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/AAPL/history, published under "Historical Prices." In the event of a stock split, reverse stock split, or similar corporate action affecting the listed company during the listed time frame, this market will resolve based on split-adjusted prices as displayed on Yahoo Finance.

Prediction market odds often diverge from traditional analyst price targets because they reflect real-money incentives and crowd wisdom rather than consensus estimates. While equity analysts publish formal forecasts based on fundamental research, this market aggregates the beliefs of traders who have skin in the game. Analysts may focus on longer-term valuations, whereas traders here are pricing a specific binary outcome by a fixed date. Both signals are valuable: analyst reports provide detailed reasoning, while market odds reveal what informed participants actually expect to occur in the near term.
On Polymarket, traders set the odds by buying and selling shares representing the two outcomes: AAPL closes above the threshold or it does not. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each share costs between 0 and 1 cent, and the current market price reflects the probability implied by recent trades. As new information emerges—earnings reports, macroeconomic data, or shifts in tech sentiment—traders adjust their positions, moving the price up or down. The spread between bid and ask prices indicates liquidity and conviction among participants.
This market resolves around Jul 31, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once Apple's closing price for that date is verifiable from credible public sources. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome receive their payout, while losing shares expire worthless. The resolution is binary: either AAPL closes above the specified level or it does not. No partial payouts or rounding adjustments apply; the market settles based on official closing data.
Key catalysts include Apple's quarterly earnings announcements, changes in interest rates or broader market sentiment, product launches or supply chain updates, and macroeconomic data affecting tech stocks. Regulatory news—such as antitrust developments or tax policy shifts—can also shift trader expectations. Analyst upgrades or downgrades, competitor performance, and shifts in consumer demand for iPhones and services may influence positioning. Real-time price momentum and options market activity can amplify moves, especially as the end-of-July deadline approaches and uncertainty narrows.
