This market will resolve to "Yes" if the official closing price for Amazon.com, Inc. (AMZN) on the final day of trading of the specified week (normally Friday) is higher than the listed price. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No." If the final session is shortened (for example, due to a market-holiday schedule), the official closing price published for that shortened session will still be used for resolution. If no official closing price is published for that session (for example, due to a trading halt into the close, system issue, delisting, or other disruption), the market will use the last valid on-exchange trade price of the regular session as the effective closing price. The resolution source for this market is Yahoo Finance, specifically the Amazon.com, Inc. (AMZN) "Close" prices available at https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/AMZN/history, published under "Historical Prices." In the event of a stock split, reverse stock split, or similar corporate action affecting the listed company during the listed time frame, this market will resolve based on split-adjusted prices as displayed on Yahoo Finance.

Prediction market odds often diverge from traditional analyst price targets because they reflect real-money incentives and crowd wisdom rather than single-point estimates. While Wall Street analysts publish consensus targets based on fundamental research, this market aggregates the beliefs of traders who stand to gain or lose based on the actual outcome. Prediction markets tend to incorporate breaking news and sentiment shifts faster than formal analyst updates, making them a complementary signal. However, both sources have merit: analysts offer detailed reasoning, while markets reveal what informed participants genuinely expect to occur.
On Polymarket, traders set the odds through an automated market maker that adjusts prices based on buy and sell pressure. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each share represents a claim on the outcome, and the price reflects the collective probability assigned by all participants. As traders buy shares betting on Amazon finishing above the threshold, the price rises; conversely, selling pressure lowers it. This continuous price discovery mechanism ensures the market stays responsive to new information and trading activity throughout the week leading up to resolution.
This market resolves around Jul 10, 2026, once the trading week of July 6 concludes and Amazon's closing price is finalized. The outcome is determined by comparing AMZN's actual closing price on the final day of that week against the specified threshold. Resolution is verified against credible public sources to ensure accuracy. Traders who correctly predicted whether the stock would finish above or below that level receive their winnings, while incorrect positions expire worthless.
Earnings announcements, macroeconomic data releases, and shifts in tech sector sentiment can all drive significant price swings in this market. Regulatory news affecting Amazon's cloud or retail divisions, changes in interest rate expectations, and broader market volatility will influence trader positioning. Competitor performance, consumer spending reports, and any company-specific developments announced during that week could also reshape expectations. Additionally, intraday momentum and options expiration activity may create tactical trading opportunities that temporarily shift odds before the final settlement.
