This market will resolve according to the individual who leads the next White House press briefing following the creation of this market. Resolution is based on who actually delivers the briefing from the podium, not on who is listed or announced in advance. If the individual scheduled or announced to give a briefing does not ultimately lead it, this market will resolve to the individual who does. An individual who appears at a qualifying briefing only as a guest, or who speaks only after being introduced by the individual leading the briefing, will not qualify. For the purposes of this market, a White House press briefing is an event listed on the public White House schedule as a press briefing. Any such briefing will qualify, even if the individual leading it has not been formally announced as the Press Secretary or as an acting or interim Press Secretary. "New Media" briefings and special briefings including additional guests will qualify, so long as the individual leads the briefing. Impromptu press gaggles, and remarks that are not listed on the public schedule as a press briefing, will not qualify. If two or more individuals jointly lead the next qualifying briefing, this market will resolve to the individual who speaks first. If no qualifying White House press briefing occurs by September 30, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "Other". This market will resolve based on footage of the briefing, as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting.

On Polymarket, this market is priced using a continuous double auction, meaning traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of a share reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as determined by supply and demand. Higher demand for shares in a particular briefer will drive up the price, indicating a greater perceived chance of them being selected. Conversely, increased selling pressure will lower the price. The current 24-hour volume is $7,109, reflecting active trading in this market.
This market resolves around Sep 30, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will depend on identifying the individual who delivers the next official White House press briefing as documented by major news outlets. The market will then determine which outcome, representing a specific individual, was realized. This process ensures a transparent and objective assessment of the event's outcome, based on publicly available information.
Several signals could significantly impact this market. Any announcements regarding changes in the White House press office staffing, or the scheduled availability of key spokespeople, would likely cause shifts in the odds. Unexpected events, such as a sudden resignation or a major policy announcement requiring a specific briefer, could also trigger substantial movement. Furthermore, public statements or media appearances by potential briefers could influence market sentiment. Monitoring these developments will be crucial for understanding how this market evolves leading up to Sep 30, 2026.
