This market assesses the likelihood of any AI model, regardless of origin, surpassing a score of 65 on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index by a set deadline. The index evaluates the intelligence capabilities of AI systems as measured by Artificial Analysis, and crossing this threshold indicates notable advancement in AI functionality.
The market resolves to Yes if any AI model company records a score strictly above 65 on Artificial Analysis's Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index after market issuance and before the specified date at 12:00 AM ET. A qualifying score must be strictly greater than the threshold, with equality not qualifying. The relevant score is the official, publicly displayed overall index score on https://artificialanalysis.ai/leaderboards/providers. The observation window begins at market issuance and ends immediately before the date stated in the market. Kalshi is not affiliated with Artificial Analysis, and all trademarks belong to their respective owners.
Currently, the prediction market suggests a different outlook than many traditional analyst forecasts regarding the timeline for AI reaching an intelligence index score of 65. While some analysts predict this milestone will be achieved within the next year, this market reflects a more cautious view, with traders assigning a lower probability to that outcome. This divergence often arises because prediction markets aggregate the insights of a diverse group of participants, potentially capturing information and perspectives not fully reflected in standard analyst reports. It’s a dynamic comparison, constantly evolving as new information emerges.
On Kalshi, this market is priced using a continuous double auction mechanism, meaning traders buy and sell contracts representing their beliefs about the probability of the AI intelligence index exceeding 65. The price of a contract reflects the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the price adjusts to reflect the collective wisdom of the crowd. This creates a dynamic and efficient way to forecast future events, driven by the incentives of those with skin in the game.
This market resolves around Jul 1, 2027, with the outcome determined by verifying whether the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index has scored above 65 at any point before that date. The result will be confirmed once the index value is verifiable from credible public reporting. Traders will then be paid out based on the final outcome and their positions in the market. It’s important to monitor the index’s progress as we approach the resolution date to understand the potential implications for this market.
Several signals or events could significantly impact this market. Major breakthroughs in AI research, such as the development of a new algorithm or a substantial increase in processing power, could drive up expectations. Conversely, setbacks in AI development, like the discovery of limitations in current models or concerns about safety and ethics, could lower the perceived probability. Public announcements from leading AI companies, academic publications, and even shifts in government funding for AI research are all potential catalysts that could influence trading activity in this market.
