This event tracks specific words and phrases that Donald Trump may mention during an official bilateral meeting with Iraq's Prime Minister. The meeting must be open to the press and broadcast live for the event to qualify, with resolution based on video footage or official transcripts of Trump's remarks made in an official capacity.
Resolution is based on Donald Trump speaking in an official capacity during a live televised or streamed bilateral meeting with Iraq's Prime Minister that is open to the press. Only content from the original broadcast or stream counts; previously aired content, archival footage, and separate recordings are excluded. Promotional content aired during the event counts, but advertisements do not. Each specified term or phrase must appear in exact form (or plural/possessive variations), with grammatical and tense inflections otherwise not counted. Plural nouns within proper nouns and noun phrases are included. If the event is cancelled or fails to qualify under these criteria, or if Trump does not speak in an official capacity (such as inaudible private conversations or unofficial statements), the market does not qualify and all outcomes resolve to No. If the event is postponed and rescheduled within 14 calendar days with announcement by the end of the following calendar day, markets remain open. Video serves as the primary resolution source; official transcripts are used if Kalshi employees cannot reach consensus from video alone.
Prediction market odds often diverge from traditional analyst forecasts because they aggregate real-time trading signals from many participants with financial skin in the game. While political analysts and media commentators may rely on historical patterns or expert judgment, this market reflects live belief updates as new information surfaces. Traders respond immediately to breaking news, diplomatic statements, or shifting geopolitical conditions, whereas analyst predictions tend to update less frequently. Over time, prediction markets have demonstrated competitive accuracy against expert consensus, particularly when the underlying event is verifiable and the incentives are transparent.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order-book mechanism where traders submit bids and asks for shares tied to each possible outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market price reflects the equilibrium between buyers and sellers; as demand for a particular outcome rises, its price increases, and vice versa. Each outcome is expressed as a probability between 0 and 100, so a price of 65 implies a 65% perceived likelihood. Traders profit by correctly predicting which statements will be made, and the spread between bid and ask prices tightens as volume increases and more participants engage.
This market resolves around Jul 29, 2026, after the bilateral meeting between the two leaders has concluded. The outcome is determined by comparing public statements made during the meeting against the specific mentions tracked by each outcome in this market. Resolution relies on credible public reporting—including official transcripts, video recordings, and reputable news coverage—to verify what was actually said. Once the event is verifiable from these sources, the market settles and traders receive payouts based on which outcomes occurred.
Several catalysts could shift odds significantly before the meeting takes place. Diplomatic statements, leaked agendas, or official announcements about meeting topics will likely trigger trading activity as participants reassess which mentions are probable. Changes in geopolitical tensions, economic conditions, or bilateral relations between the two nations could alter expectations around what will be discussed. Media speculation and expert commentary may also influence trader sentiment. Closer to the meeting date, any public remarks by either leader about planned discussion points could move prices sharply, as traders incorporate fresh information into their forecasts.
