During a bilateral meeting between Donald Trump and the President of France that is open to the press and broadcast live, resolution will depend on whether Trump speaks specific words or phrases in his official capacity. The event must be a live televised or streamed press-open meeting; previously recorded content or private conversations do not qualify.
This event contains multiple phrase-specific markets tracking whether Donald Trump mentions particular words or terms during an official bilateral meeting with the President of France. Resolution requires that the bilateral meeting be held as a live televised or streamed event open to the press, with Trump speaking in an official capacity. Each phrase market resolves Yes if Trump uses the exact word or phrase (or plural/possessive forms), with grammatical and tense variations otherwise excluded. Plural nouns within proper nouns and noun phrases are included. Resolution is based primarily on video evidence; official transcripts serve as secondary reference if video consensus cannot be reached. Private conversations, inaudible remarks, unofficial statements picked up on hot microphones, and content from separate events or archival footage do not count. If the bilateral meeting is cancelled or fails to meet qualification criteria, all phrase markets resolve No and the "Event does not qualify" market resolves Yes. If the meeting is postponed but rescheduled within 14 calendar days with announcement by the end of the following calendar day, markets remain open.
Prediction market odds often diverge from traditional analyst forecasts because they aggregate real-money bets from a broad pool of traders rather than relying on a small group of expert opinions. In this market, traders with direct knowledge, media access, or strong research incentives may price outcomes differently than published analyst predictions. Prediction markets reward accuracy financially, creating a built-in mechanism to correct mispriced outcomes over time. Comparing this market's odds to public analyst commentary can reveal where consensus breaks down or where traders see hidden value.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order-book mechanism where traders submit bids and asks for shares tied to each possible outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each outcome reflects the probability traders assign to it, with higher-priced outcomes indicating stronger collective confidence. As new information emerges—such as diplomatic statements, media reports, or schedule changes—traders adjust their positions, moving prices up or down. The spread between bid and ask prices tightens as liquidity increases, making it easier to enter or exit positions.
This market resolves around Jun 16, 2026, once the bilateral meeting concludes and statements are publicly available. The outcome is confirmed by comparing actual remarks made during the meeting against the specific predictions offered in the market. Resolution relies on verified reporting from credible public sources, including official transcripts, video footage, or statements from both governments. Traders holding shares in the correct outcome receive their winnings once the event is finalized and the platform settles all positions.
Several catalysts could shift odds in this market before resolution. Diplomatic tensions or public statements from either government ahead of the meeting may signal which topics will dominate discussions. Media reporting on the meeting's agenda, leaked talking points, or pre-meeting briefings can move trader expectations. Changes to the meeting's date, location, or attendee list could also trigger repricing. Finally, broader geopolitical events—trade disputes, security concerns, or election developments—may influence what the two leaders prioritize during their bilateral conversation.
