Tom Homan will appear as a guest on the CBS news program Face the Nation to discuss policy matters. Resolution will be based on whether he uses specific words or phrases during his official on-air remarks in the live broadcast.
Resolution is determined by analyzing the live broadcast or stream of Face the Nation using video as the primary source, with official transcripts as a secondary reference if consensus cannot be reached. Tom Homan must speak in an official capacity for the event to qualify; inaudible private conversations, unofficial statements, or hot-mic remarks do not count. Each market resolves to Yes if Tom Homan uses the exact phrase or word specified (including plural or possessive forms), though grammatical and tense inflections are not required. The exact phrase or word must appear as stated; partial matches or contextual uses do not qualify. Only content from the live broadcast or stream counts—promotional content aired during the event is included, but advertisements, previously aired content, archival footage, and recordings from separate times or locations are excluded. If the event is cancelled or fails to qualify under these criteria, the "Event does not qualify" market resolves to Yes and all other markets resolve to No. If the event is postponed and rescheduled within 14 calendar days with announcement by the end of the following calendar day, markets remain open.
Prediction market odds often diverge from traditional analyst forecasts because they reflect real-money incentives and crowdsourced expectations rather than individual expert opinion. In this market, traders are betting on specific statements Homan may make, which creates a dynamic pricing mechanism that can shift rapidly as new reporting surfaces or as the event date approaches. While analysts may rely on historical patterns and prepared remarks, prediction markets aggregate the collective judgment of participants with financial skin in the game, sometimes revealing consensus that differs meaningfully from conventional wisdom.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through an order-book mechanism where traders buy and sell shares corresponding to different potential outcomes. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each outcome is represented as a separate contract, and the price of each reflects the probability traders assign to it occurring. Prices range from near zero to near one hundred, with higher prices indicating greater confidence in that outcome. As traders place orders and execute trades, prices adjust in real time to reflect evolving market sentiment about what Homan will say during his Face the Nation appearance.
This market resolves around Jul 27, 2026, once Homan's Face the Nation appearance has aired and his statements can be verified. The outcome is determined by comparing his actual remarks against the specific predictions embedded in each contract. Resolution hinges on credible public reporting of what was said during the broadcast, ensuring that all traders have access to the same factual basis for settlement. Traders should monitor the event closely as the date approaches to stay informed about any scheduling changes or relevant developments.
Several catalysts could shift this market significantly before resolution. Breaking news about Homan's policy positions, recent statements, or controversies may prompt traders to reassess which outcomes are most likely. Changes in the political environment or media focus could also influence expectations about his talking points. Additionally, any pre-broadcast interviews, prepared remarks released by his office, or statements from other officials could provide new information that traders incorporate into their positions. Finally, as the broadcast date draws closer, increased media speculation and analyst commentary may drive trading volume and repricing across the market.
