This event tracks specific words and phrases that witnesses may mention during a House Committee on Financial Services hearing focused on the CLARITY Act and financial innovation. Resolution depends on whether participating witnesses speak these terms in an official capacity during the live-streamed or televised hearing.
This event resolves based on whether any participating witness mentions specific terms during the House Committee on Financial Services hearing on the CLARITY Act. The event must be a live televised or streamed hearing open to the press for it to qualify. Resolution uses video of the hearing as the primary source, with official transcripts as backup if consensus cannot be reached. Only exact phrases or their plural/possessive forms count; grammatical and tense variations do not. Witnesses must speak in an official capacity—inaudible private conversations or unofficial statements do not qualify. Previously aired content, archival footage, or recordings from separate events are excluded. If the hearing is cancelled or fails to meet qualification criteria, the "Event does not qualify" market resolves to Yes and all other markets resolve to No. If the hearing is postponed and rescheduled within 14 calendar days with announcement by the end of the following calendar day, markets remain open.
Prediction market odds reflect real-money bets from traders who have financial incentive to forecast accurately, often diverging from traditional analyst commentary. While political analysts and media may offer qualitative assessments of likely witness statements, this market aggregates dispersed trader knowledge into quantified probabilities. Analysts typically rely on historical precedent and public statements, whereas prediction markets incorporate breaking developments and shifting sentiment in near-real time. The two approaches often converge on major outcomes but can diverge when new information emerges or when analysts and traders weight evidence differently.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through an order-book mechanism where traders buy and sell shares corresponding to different witness statements or testimony themes. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each share represents a claim about what will be said, and the current bid-ask spread reflects the market's uncertainty around that outcome. Prices range from near zero to near one hundred, with higher prices indicating stronger trader conviction. Volume and liquidity vary by outcome, so less-discussed testimony angles may trade at wider spreads and lower volume than headline-grabbing statements.
This market resolves around Aug 1, 2026, once the House CLARITY Act hearing concludes and witness testimony becomes part of the public record. The outcome is determined by verified statements made during the hearing, confirmed against credible public reporting and official congressional transcripts. Traders should monitor the hearing date closely, as any delays or postponements may affect resolution timing. The market will settle based on what witnesses actually say, not on media interpretation or political spin afterward.
Pre-hearing announcements about which witnesses will testify can shift odds significantly, as can leaked or publicly disclosed statements from those witnesses beforehand. Media coverage speculating on testimony topics, congressional staff comments, or related legislative developments may also influence trader positioning. Last-minute witness cancellations or substitutions could trigger sharp repricing. In the days immediately before the hearing, any new revelations or statements from key figures could move prices as traders adjust expectations about what will actually be said on the record.
