This market will resolve according to the median home value for all property types in the United States on June 30, 2026. If the reported value falls exactly between two brackets, then this market will resolve to the higher range bracket. The resolution source will be official data from the Parcl Labs Sales Price Index for the United States (Parcl_ID: 5826765). The settlement price will be calculated by multiplying the published price index value (price per square foot) by 2000, which is the median square footage for homes in the US. Parcl is set to publish this data on June 30, 2026. If no data for June 30 is released by July 10, 2026, 11:59PM ET, this market will resolve according to the most recently published data. Prediction market odds on Polymarket often diverge from traditional analyst forecasts and real estate surveys because markets incorporate real-time trader conviction and incentivize accuracy through financial stakes. While real estate analysts and institutions publish median home value projections based on historical trends and economic models, prediction markets aggregate dispersed information from participants betting their own capital. Comparing Polymarket odds to consensus forecasts from major real estate firms, Federal Reserve surveys, and housing economists can reveal whether traders are pricing in more optimistic or pessimistic scenarios than mainstream analysis suggests about home values by mid-2026.
On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. On Polymarket, this event is priced through outcome shares that traders buy and sell to express their forecast of the median US home value on June 30, 2026. Each outcome represents a specific price range or point estimate, and the current market price of each share reflects the implied probability that outcome will occur. As traders adjust their positions based on housing data, mortgage rates, economic indicators, and other signals, share prices shift in real time. The outcome with the highest share price represents the market's leading expectation for median home value at resolution.
This market resolves on Jun 30, 2026, at which point the actual median US home value will be determined and compared against the outcome ranges or thresholds defined in the market. Resolution hinges on official data sources that measure the median home price across the United States at that specific date. Once the authoritative figure is published, the outcome that matches the final median value will be marked correct, and traders holding shares in that outcome will receive their winnings. The resolution process typically occurs within days of the end date once data is confirmed.
Median US home values are sensitive to mortgage interest rates, Federal Reserve policy decisions, employment data, and consumer confidence trends. Major economic announcements—such as inflation reports, jobless claims, or Fed rate changes—often trigger sharp market moves as traders reassess housing affordability and demand. Real estate-specific catalysts include new home sales figures, existing home inventory levels, and regional price indices. Geopolitical events, credit market disruptions, or unexpected shifts in migration patterns can also influence national median values. Traders monitor these signals continuously to adjust their positions ahead of June 30, 2026.
