This market tracks specific words and phrases that official broadcast commentators—including play-by-play announcers, color commentators, rules analysts, and sideline reporters—may say during the Sun vs Fever Women's Professional Basketball Game scheduled for July 22, 2026. Resolution is based on the national broadcast, or the home team's local broadcast if not nationally televised.
Resolution requires exact phrase/word matches or their plural/possessive forms, with grammatical and tense inflections otherwise excluded. Commentary counting begins at tip-off and ends when the game concludes; if the game goes to overtime, commentary continues until the final outcome is determined, ending after any final play review decision. Only statements from official broadcast team members (play-by-play, color commentator, rules analyst, sideline reporter) count; commentary from players, coaches, referees, guests, halftime reporters, or other non-broadcast personnel does not count. Commercials featuring broadcast commentators are excluded, but promotional content within the game broadcast counts. The entirety of content within original qualifying broadcast segments will be used for resolution. If the game is postponed and rescheduled within 14 calendar days with announcement by the end of the following calendar day, markets remain open. If the event is cancelled or fails to qualify, the "Event does not qualify" market resolves to Yes and all other markets resolve to No.
Prediction market odds on this market aggregate real-time trader conviction, while traditional analyst forecasts rely on expert opinion and historical data. Markets often price in breaking news and live sentiment faster than published analyst reports update. For announcer mentions, prediction markets capture the collective judgment of participants who monitor broadcast patterns and team dynamics, whereas analysts may rely on seasonal trends or prepared talking points. Both approaches offer value; markets excel at capturing immediate consensus, while analysts provide structured reasoning and context.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through continuous order-matching, where traders submit bids and asks for each announcer mention outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Prices reflect the probability that a given phrase will be spoken during the broadcast, expressed as a decimal between 0 and 1. As new information emerges—team news, player injuries, or historical broadcast patterns—traders adjust their positions, moving the price up or down. The platform's transparent order book allows participants to see depth and execute trades at market or limit prices.
This market resolves around Aug 6, 2026, once the Sun vs Fever game concludes and the broadcast is complete. The outcome is determined by verifying which announcer statements were actually made during the game against credible public sources, including official broadcast recordings and verified transcripts. Each outcome in the market corresponds to a specific phrase or mention, and resolution confirms whether that statement occurred. Traders who correctly predicted the announcer's words receive their payout once verification is finalized.
Key catalysts include roster changes, injury announcements, or trades affecting either team that commentators are likely to emphasize on air. Pre-game narratives—such as playoff implications, player milestones, or rivalry storylines—often drive announcer focus and shift market odds. Media coverage and social media discussion can signal which themes broadcasters will prioritize. Game-day developments like early leads, standout performances, or controversial calls may prompt specific commentary. Historical broadcast patterns for these teams also inform trader expectations about typical announcer behavior and talking points.
