During the Phillies vs Reds baseball game scheduled for July 8, 2026, broadcasters may mention various baseball terms and concepts in their play-by-play and color commentary. These markets track whether specific words or phrases are spoken by announcers during the live broadcast.
Resolution is based on whether play-by-play or color commentators speak the exact phrase or word (including plural or possessive forms) during the Phillies vs Reds game originally scheduled for July 8, 2026. Commentary counting begins following the first pitch and ends once the game concludes, including any extra innings. If the final play is under review, commentary ends following the umpire's decision. Resolution uses the national broadcast; if unavailable, the home team's local broadcast is used. Promotional content aired during the event counts toward resolution, but advertisements do not. Previously aired content, archival footage, and recordings from separate times, places, or events are excluded. Video of the game is the primary resolution source; if consensus cannot be reached via video, official transcripts (internal and external) are used. If the game is postponed and rescheduled within 14 calendar days with announcement by the end of the following calendar day, markets remain open. If the event is cancelled or fails to qualify under these criteria, the "Event does not qualify" market resolves to Yes and all other markets resolve to No.
Prediction market odds reflect aggregated trader expectations rather than individual analyst opinions. While sports analysts may publish pre-game commentary about likely broadcast moments or storylines, this market prices collective belief across many participants with real money at stake. Prediction markets often incorporate information faster than traditional forecasts, as traders continuously update positions based on breaking news, team roster changes, or other developments. Comparing this market's odds to published analyst commentary can reveal where crowd sentiment diverges from expert consensus.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through an order-book mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing different announcer statements. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each share reflects the market's implied probability of that outcome occurring, with prices ranging from near zero to near one dollar. Traders profit by correctly predicting which statements will be made, and the continuous trading process ensures prices stay aligned with available information and participant conviction about the broadcast.
This market resolves around Jul 22, 2026, after the Phillies versus Reds game concludes and the broadcast is complete. The outcome is determined by verifying what announcers actually said during the game against credible public sources such as official broadcast recordings or reputable sports media reports. Once the event is confirmed, this market settles based on which statements were genuinely made by the broadcast team.
Several factors can shift odds before resolution. Roster announcements, injuries to star players, or unexpected trades could change what announcers emphasize during the broadcast. Pre-game media coverage and analyst predictions may influence trader expectations about likely talking points. Weather conditions, recent team performance, or playoff implications could also affect which storylines broadcasters prioritize. Real-time game developments—such as early leads, comebacks, or standout individual performances—will drive announcer commentary and may cause late-market repricing as traders adjust their positions.
