This event tracks specific phrases and terminology that broadcast announcers may use during the Dodgers vs Yankees baseball game scheduled for July 18, 2026. Resolution depends on whether official broadcast commentators mention particular words or phrases during live game commentary.
Resolution is determined by monitoring official broadcast commentary from play-by-play commentators, color commentators, rules analysts, and sideline reporters during the Dodgers vs Yankees game. Commentary counting begins following the first pitch and continues through game conclusion, including extra innings if applicable. Commentary ends following the umpire's decision on any final play review. The national broadcast will be used for resolution; if unavailable, the home team's local broadcast applies. Exact phrases or their plural and possessive forms must be used; grammatical and tense inflections do not count. Promotional content within the broadcast counts, but commercials and commentary from players, coaches, umpires, guests, or non-official broadcast personnel do not. Video evidence is the primary resolution source, with official transcripts used if consensus cannot be reached from video alone. If the game is cancelled or fails to qualify, all phrase markets resolve to No and the "Event does not qualify" market resolves to Yes. Games postponed and rescheduled within 14 calendar days remain open.
Prediction market odds differ from traditional analyst forecasts because they aggregate real-money bets rather than expert opinion. Traders in this market are financially incentivized to price outcomes accurately, which often reveals crowd wisdom that individual analysts might miss. While sports commentators and media analysts may predict announcer tone or key talking points based on team narratives, this market reflects what actual traders believe will occur, incorporating live game dynamics and betting patterns. The continuous price discovery mechanism can diverge from pre-game analyst predictions as new information emerges.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through continuous order-book matching, where traders submit bids and asks for each possible outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Prices move in real time as new trades execute, reflecting the collective conviction of the trading community about what announcers will say. Each outcome has its own contract, and the price of that contract represents the implied probability traders assign to it. Higher prices indicate stronger belief in that outcome occurring, while lower prices suggest traders view it as less likely.
This market resolves around Aug 2, 2026, once the Dodgers vs Yankees game concludes and announcer commentary can be verified. The outcome is determined by what the broadcasters actually say during the game, confirmed against credible public sources such as broadcast recordings or official game transcripts. Traders holding positions on accurate outcomes receive payouts, while incorrect positions expire worthless. Resolution typically occurs within hours of game end, once the commentary has been documented and verified.
Several factors can shift prices in this market before resolution. Pre-game roster announcements, injury reports, or lineup changes may influence what announcers emphasize during their commentary. Betting odds and public sentiment around the matchup can shape broadcaster narratives, especially if one team is heavily favored or facing playoff implications. Real-time game events—such as early leads, controversial calls, or standout performances—will likely trigger announcer reactions that traders anticipate. Media storylines, player milestones, or historical context between the teams may also drive commentary themes that traders price in ahead of time.
