This market tracks specific words and phrases that official broadcast commentators may say during the Aces vs Tempo women's basketball game scheduled for July 20, 2026. Commentators include play-by-play announcers, color commentators, rules analysts, and sideline reporters whose commentary is captured on the national broadcast or home team local broadcast if not nationally televised.
Resolution is based on whether official broadcast commentators (play-by-play, color commentator, rules analyst, or sideline reporter) use specific phrases during the game. Commentary counting begins once tip-off occurs and ends once the game concludes, including any overtime periods. If the final play is under review, commentary ends following the referee's decision. The national broadcast is used for resolution; if unavailable, the home team local broadcast applies. Exact phrase/word usage or grammatical/tense inflections of those phrases must occur—plural and possessive forms count. Commentary from commercials does not count, but promotional content within the broadcast does. Commentary from players, coaches, referees, guests, halftime reporters, or non-official broadcast team members does not count. The entirety of original qualifying broadcast segments is used for resolution. If the game is cancelled or fails to qualify, the "Event does not qualify" market resolves to Yes and all other markets resolve to No. If postponed and rescheduled within 14 calendar days with announcement by end of the following calendar day, markets remain open.
Prediction market odds reflect aggregated trader beliefs and often diverge from traditional analyst forecasts because they incorporate real-money incentives and continuous price discovery. While sports analysts may rely on historical commentary patterns and team narratives, this market prices outcomes based on what traders collectively believe announcers will actually say. Prediction markets tend to update faster than published forecasts when new information emerges, such as roster changes or pre-game storylines. The crowd-sourced nature of pricing can reveal consensus views that differ meaningfully from expert predictions, especially for niche or context-dependent commentary outcomes.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order-book mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing different announcer commentary outcomes. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Prices range from near zero to near one hundred, reflecting the implied probability that each outcome will occur. As new trades execute, prices adjust in real time to reflect updated trader sentiment. The bid-ask spread tightens as volume increases, making it cheaper to enter or exit positions closer to game time. Traders can place limit orders to target specific price levels or use market orders for immediate execution.
This market resolves around Aug 4, 2026, once the Aces vs Tempo game concludes and announcer commentary can be verified. The outcome is determined by comparing actual broadcast statements against the specific prediction criteria defined for each outcome option. Verification relies on credible public sources such as official broadcast recordings, transcripts, or documented game commentary. Resolution occurs after a brief review period to confirm accuracy, ensuring all trades settle fairly based on what was genuinely said during the game.
Several catalysts can shift odds before the game begins. Roster announcements, player injuries, or late-breaking team news may change the narrative announcers are likely to emphasize. Pre-game media coverage and analyst commentary can prime certain talking points, signaling which themes broadcasters may highlight. Betting line movements and public interest in specific player matchups or storylines often correlate with announcer focus. As game time approaches, updated odds from sportsbooks and social media buzz about anticipated commentary can influence trader positioning. Finally, any unusual team circumstances or historical context may prompt announcers to deviate from typical patterns, creating trading opportunities for those tracking these signals.
