This event group tracks whether the South Korea ETF (EWY) will reach specific price levels during the week of June 29, 2026. Kalshi markets reference KOSPI index thresholds in Korean Won, while Polymarket markets specify EWY price targets in USD across high and low price points, all measured during regular trading hours.
What will South Korea ETF (EWY) hit Week of June 29 2026?
Resolution is based on the KOSPI Composite Index value as reported by Trading View in its native Korean won currency and units, with no currency conversion applied. A Yes resolution occurs if the index reaches or exceeds the specified threshold at any point during June 2026; the level need not be sustained. Each threshold level is evaluated independently to two decimal places. If the index fails to reach the specified level at any point during the month, the outcome resolves to No. Post-expiration revisions to the underlying index are not considered. If no data is available by the Expiration Date, all outcomes except "No data" or "None" resolve to No.
Polymarket and Kalshi may show different odds on this market due to variations in user demographics, liquidity depth, and market-making incentives. Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Kalshi's regulated structure and order-book model can attract institutional traders focused on precise hedging, while Polymarket's automated market maker design may appeal to retail participants trading on intuition or shorter timeframes. Differences in fee structures, available leverage, and promotional activity also influence where volume concentrates. These spreads typically narrow as resolution approaches, but arbitrage opportunities can persist if one platform attracts more informed flow than the other.
Key catalysts include Bank of Korea monetary policy decisions, Korean corporate earnings reports, and broader risk-on or risk-off sentiment in emerging markets. Currency movements—particularly USD/KRW strength or weakness—directly impact EWY valuations since the fund holds Korean won-denominated assets. Geopolitical developments on the peninsula, US–Korea trade negotiations, and global semiconductor demand (given Samsung and SK Hynix exposure) can trigger sharp repricing. Economic data releases from both Korea and the US, along with Fed communications affecting emerging-market capital flows, will likely drive the largest intraday swings as traders adjust their conviction ahead of the June 29 week.
