Description

This market will resolve to "Yes" if, at any point after market creation and during a trading session of the week of October 12 2026, any 1-minute candle for Silver (XAGUSD) has a final "High" or "Low" price equal to or beyond (above for ↑ High Prices, below for ↓ Low Prices) the listed price. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". Only prices achieved during an applicable trading session of the specified timeframe's business days will be considered. The trading session for a given business day typically begins at 6:00 PM ET on the prior calendar date. Under the standard schedule, trading is open from 6:00:00 PM ET Sunday through 5:00:00 PM ET Friday, with a daily break from 5:00:00 PM ET to 6:00:00 PM ET, except where modified by holiday or special-session hours. Prices will be used exactly as published by Pyth, without rounding. If Silver (XAGUSD) does not trade at all during the listed time frame, this market will resolve to "No". In the event of a contract specification change, feed change, or similar structural modification affecting the market during the listed time frame, this market will resolve based on adjusted prices as displayed on Pyth. The resolution source for this market is Pyth — specifically, the Silver (XAGUSD) "High" and "Low" prices available at https://pythdata.app/explore/Metal.XAG%2FUSD, with the chart settings configured for 1-minute candles. Historical 1-minute candles may be accessed by appending a Unix timestamp (seconds) to the Pyth chart URL using the "t=" parameter. If the relevant Pyth data is unavailable due to a system outage, data failure, or other technical disruption that prevents verification of the required 1-minute candle data, the official daily high/low price published for the relevant CME COMEX futures contract for the underlying metal—COMEX Silver Futures (SI)—may be used to determine whether the listed price was reached during the applicable trading session.

Frequently asked questions

Currently, it's difficult to draw broad comparisons between prediction market odds and traditional analyst forecasts for silver. While many analysts offer price targets, these are often point estimates with varying degrees of confidence. This market, however, aggregates the beliefs of many individuals, expressing a probability distribution of potential outcomes. It’s a different approach to forecasting, and often prediction markets can offer an earlier signal than traditional analysis, reflecting the wisdom of the crowd. The question remains whether this market will accurately reflect future silver prices compared to expert opinions.

On Limitless, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders can buy and sell contracts representing different price outcomes for silver. The price of each contract reflects the collective belief of the traders about the probability of that outcome occurring. On Limitless, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market operates much like a futures market, but instead of physical delivery, contracts pay out based on whether the silver price falls within the specified range at the resolution date. Traders adjust their bids and asks based on new information and their own analysis, constantly updating the implied probabilities.

This market resolves around Oct 16, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the resolution will be based on the closing price of Silver (XAGUSD) during the week of October 12, 2026. The exact price that triggers a payout will depend on the specific contract purchased, but the market will determine which outcome corresponds to the actual silver price at that time. Traders will be able to see the final result and any payouts earned after resolution.

Several factors could significantly move this market before Oct 16, 2026. Major economic data releases, such as inflation reports or interest rate decisions from central banks, often impact precious metal prices. Geopolitical events, including conflicts or trade disputes, can also create safe-haven demand for silver. Additionally, changes in industrial demand for silver, particularly in the technology and renewable energy sectors, could influence its price. Unexpected supply disruptions from major silver-producing countries would also be a key catalyst, as would significant shifts in investor sentiment towards commodities.
