These markets track whether Rachel Maddow uses specific words or phrases during her next live show after July 12th, 2026. Resolution is based on video of the broadcast, with transcripts used as backup if needed, including promotional content but excluding advertisements.
Resolution is determined by monitoring Rachel Maddow's next live show occurring after July 12th, 2026 at 11:30 PM ET. Video of the live broadcast or stream serves as the primary source material, with official transcripts used as secondary verification if consensus cannot be reached among Kalshi employees. Only content from the original broadcast counts; additional content not included in the live airing does not qualify. Promotional material aired during the show is included in resolution, but paid advertisements are excluded. For each tracked term or phrase, the exact word or its plural or possessive forms must be used; grammatical and tense inflections are not counted separately. Plural nouns within proper nouns and noun phrases are included. The entirety of the original broadcast content is examined for resolution purposes.
Prediction market odds often diverge from traditional analyst forecasts because they aggregate real-money incentives rather than expert opinion alone. In this market, traders who correctly anticipate what will be said profit directly, creating pressure for prices to reflect ground truth. Analysts may rely on historical patterns or editorial judgment, whereas market participants incorporate breaking news, social media signals, and live updates right up to broadcast time. Over time, prediction markets have proven competitive with or superior to expert forecasts on similar questions, though both approaches offer value depending on your information sources and time horizon.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order-book mechanism where traders submit bids and asks for shares representing different statements or topics. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Prices range from near zero to near 100, with higher prices indicating stronger collective belief that an outcome will occur. Your profit or loss depends on the entry price you pay and the final resolution price once the show concludes and the outcome is verified. Tighter spreads between bid and ask reflect higher confidence and liquidity, while wider spreads suggest uncertainty or lower trading activity.
This market resolves around Aug 4, 2026, once the broadcast has aired and the relevant statements can be verified. The outcome is determined by checking whether the predicted statement or topic was actually mentioned during the show, confirmed against credible public reporting and broadcast records. Traders holding shares in the correct outcome receive their payout, while incorrect positions expire worthless. The exact resolution timing depends on how quickly the broadcast is archived and reviewed, but typically occurs within hours of the show's conclusion.
Breaking news cycles, political developments, and trending topics on social media can all shift odds as traders reassess the likelihood of certain statements being aired. If major news breaks before the broadcast, market prices may swing sharply as participants update their forecasts. Statements from Rachel Maddow or her network on social media, promotional clips, or guest announcements can also influence trading. Closer to air time, early segments or live updates from the show itself may trigger final repricing. Monitoring news feeds and social signals alongside this market can help you spot momentum before prices fully adjust.
