These markets track whether Rachel Maddow mentions specific words or phrases during her next live show after July 6th, 2026. Resolution is based on video of the broadcast, with transcripts used as backup if needed, including promotional content but excluding advertisements.
Resolution is determined by whether Rachel Maddow speaks specified words or phrases during the next Rachel Maddow Show in which she participates live after July 6th, 2026 at 1:00 PM ET. The live broadcast or stream serves as the primary source material, with official transcripts used if video consensus cannot be reached. The exact phrase or word must be used, including plural or possessive forms, though other grammatical inflections are not required. Plural nouns within proper nouns and noun phrases are included. Only content from the original broadcast or stream counts toward resolution; additional content does not. Promotional content aired during the event counts, but advertisements do not. For Iran, the threshold is 3 or more mentions. All other tracked terms require at least one mention.
Prediction market odds reflect real-money commitments from traders and often diverge from traditional analyst forecasts because they incorporate live market sentiment and collective intelligence. While analysts may issue point estimates or qualitative assessments, this market aggregates the beliefs of many participants with direct financial stakes in accuracy. Prediction markets tend to update faster than formal forecasts when new information emerges, making them a dynamic alternative lens for gauging likelihood. However, both approaches have merit: analysts bring domain expertise and structured reasoning, while markets reward predictive accuracy through price discovery.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through an order-book mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing different potential statements or outcomes. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each share trades between 0 and 100 cents, with the price reflecting the collective probability assigned by the market. Buyers and sellers post limit orders, and transactions occur when orders match. The current leading outcome reflects the highest probability consensus among active traders. Liquidity and spreads vary depending on trading volume and participant interest, which can shift as the broadcast date approaches or as relevant news breaks.
This market resolves around Jul 28, 2026, once the broadcast has aired and the specific statements or topics can be verified. The outcome is determined by reviewing credible public reporting and the actual content of the show to confirm whether the predicted statement was made. Resolution typically occurs within hours or a day after the episode airs, allowing traders to see final results quickly. Winning positions are credited based on the accuracy of the prediction relative to what actually transpired during the broadcast.
Major news cycles, political developments, and breaking stories directly influence this market, as traders reassess the likelihood of certain topics being discussed on air. Statements from Rachel Maddow on social media or in prior broadcasts can shift expectations about her upcoming show's focus. Changes in the news agenda—such as congressional hearings, legal proceedings, or international events—often trigger repricing as participants adjust their forecasts. Additionally, promotional announcements or teasers about upcoming segments may move odds. Trading volume and participant conviction also evolve as the broadcast date draws closer, reflecting increased attention and refined predictions.
