Barack Obama will participate in an interview called "Hope Comes Home: Inside the Obama Presidential Center" where he discusses the presidential center and related topics. These markets track whether he mentions specific words or phrases during his official remarks in the broadcast.
Resolution is based on the live broadcast or stream of Hope Comes Home: Inside the Obama Presidential Center, with video as the primary source and official transcripts as secondary verification if consensus cannot be reached. Barack Obama must speak in an official capacity for the event to qualify; inaudible private conversations or unofficial statements do not count. Each market resolves to Yes if Obama uses the exact phrase or word specified (including plural or possessive forms), with grammatical and tense inflections otherwise not affecting resolution. Promotional content aired during the event counts toward resolution, but advertisements do not. The entirety of the original broadcast content is used for resolution, excluding any additional content not in the original broadcast. If the event is cancelled or fails to qualify under these criteria, the "Event does not qualify" market resolves to Yes and all other markets resolve to No. If postponed with announcement by the end of the following calendar day to a date within 14 calendar days, markets remain open.
Prediction market odds reflect aggregated trader bets and real-money incentives, often diverging from traditional analyst commentary or media speculation. While analysts may rely on historical patterns or editorial judgment, this market prices outcomes based on what participants are willing to stake. Comparing the implied probability here to expert predictions or polling can reveal where the crowd sees higher or lower likelihood than conventional forecasters. Such gaps sometimes signal overlooked information or genuine disagreement about what will transpire during the interview.
This market resolves around Jun 20, 2026, once the interview has aired and statements can be verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by comparing what Obama actually says during the broadcast to the specific claims or topics listed as possible resolutions. Once the event is complete and reporting confirms which statements were made, the market settles accordingly and traders receive payouts based on their positions.
Several catalysts could shift odds before the interview airs. Pre-interview promotional clips or statements from the Obama Presidential Center may hint at topics he plans to address, moving odds on those outcomes. Breaking news or developments in politics, media, or public discourse could raise trader expectations about what he will discuss. Social media speculation and commentary from political analysts may also influence sentiment. Finally, any official announcement of the exact interview date or format could trigger repricing as traders update their conviction.
