Issue: Polymarket measures intraweek HIGH/LOW extremes across the full week of April 13–17, 2026, while Kalshi measures only the closing price at a single point in time (April 17, 5 PM EDT). These are fundamentally different settlement values and cannot be reconciled.Hero tip: If you trade on Polymarket, you are betting on whether gold touches a price level at any point during the week. On Kalshi, you are betting only on where gold closes on Friday at 5 PM. A gold price that spikes to $4,900 intraweek but closes at $4,700 will resolve YES on Polymarket but NO on Kalshi. Choose your platform based on whether you want exposure to intraweek extremes or end-of-week settlement.

Critical divergence points:

  • Polymarket: Measures whether gold hits (touches) a specified HIGH or LOW price at any point during the entire week of April 13–17, 2026, using 1-minute candle extremes from Pyth. Resolution is YES if any 1-minute candle's High reaches the threshold (for HIGH markets) or any 1-minute candle's Low reaches the threshold (for LOW markets). Quote: 'This market will resolve to Yes if, at any point during the week of April 13 2026, any 1-minute candle for Gold (XAUUSD) has a final High price equal to or above the listed price.'
  • Kalshi: Measures only the closing price of the 1-minute candlestick at exactly 5 PM EDT on April 17, 2026 (Friday, the final day of the week). Resolution is YES if that single close price exceeds the specified threshold. Quote: 'If the close price of the 1-minute candlestick for gold on April 17, 2026 at 5 PM EDT is above [threshold] USD/t.oz, then the market resolves to Yes.'
