These markets track whether Senator Cory Booker uses specific words or phrases during his appearance on MSNBC's The Last Word With Lawrence O'Donnell. Resolution is based on the live broadcast or official transcripts, requiring Booker to speak in an official capacity with exact word matches or their plural/possessive forms.
Resolution is determined by monitoring Senator Cory Booker's statements during the live broadcast or stream of The Last Word With Lawrence O'Donnell. Each market resolves to Yes if Booker uses the exact phrase or word specified (including plural or possessive forms), and No if he does not. Grammatical and tense inflections beyond pluralization and possession are not considered variations. Only content from the original live broadcast or stream counts; previously aired content, archival footage, recordings from separate events, and advertisements are excluded, though promotional content aired during the event is included. Resolution relies primarily on video evidence, with official transcripts used as a secondary source if video consensus cannot be reached. Booker must speak in an official capacity for the market to qualify; inaudible private conversations or unofficial statements picked up on a hot mic do not count. If the event is cancelled or fails to qualify under these criteria, the "Event does not qualify" market resolves to Yes and all other markets resolve to No. If the event is postponed but rescheduled within 14 calendar days with announcement by the end of the following day, markets remain open.
Prediction market odds reflect real money at stake, making them a dynamic alternative to traditional analyst forecasts. Unlike static polls or expert commentary, this market updates continuously as traders incorporate breaking news and insider signals. Analysts may rely on historical patterns or public statements, while market participants price in leaked schedules, guest lists, and recent political developments. When the two diverge significantly, it often signals that traders have access to information not yet public, or that conventional wisdom underestimates the likelihood of the appearance. Comparing the two perspectives can reveal where consensus is weakest.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through an order-book mechanism where traders buy and sell outcome contracts at bid-ask spreads they set themselves. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each contract represents a discrete claim—for instance, one contract might represent "Cory Booker mentions a specific policy area"—and traders profit if their prediction proves correct at resolution. The price of each contract reflects the collective belief of all active traders on the platform. As new information surfaces or media coverage intensifies, the bid-ask spread tightens or widens, and contract prices adjust to reflect updated probabilities.
This market resolves around Jul 15, 2026, once the broadcast airs and the content becomes verifiable. The outcome is confirmed by reviewing credible public reporting of the episode, including transcripts, video clips, and news coverage. Traders will know the result shortly after the show concludes, assuming the appearance occurs as scheduled. If the episode is postponed or cancelled, resolution rules specific to the platform will apply. Until that date, odds may shift based on scheduling announcements, guest confirmations, or breaking political news that affects the likelihood of the appearance.
Several catalysts could shift odds significantly before Jul 15, 2026. Official announcements from MSNBC or Booker's office confirming or denying the appearance would trigger sharp repricing. Major political developments—such as legislative votes, campaign announcements, or breaking news involving the Senator—could increase or decrease his likelihood of appearing. Media reports about the show's guest lineup, scheduling changes, or last-minute cancellations would also move the market. Trader sentiment can swing on social media rumors, leaked production schedules, or statements from show producers. Any event that affects Booker's availability or newsworthiness in the days leading up to the broadcast will influence market prices.
