Description

This event tracks the hourly rental price of NVIDIA's RTX 5090 GPU compute resources during the week of August 3-7, 2026. Participants forecast whether the price will exceed various threshold levels by 4 PM ET on August 7, 2026, based on pricing data from Ornn's cloud compute dashboard.

Kalshi

Resolution is determined by the NVIDIA RTX 5090 compute hourly rate published by Ornn (https://dashboard.ornnai.com/) as of August 7, 2026 at 4 PM ET. The event includes multiple price thresholds: $0.50, $0.75, $1.00, $1.25, and $1.50 per hour. Each threshold resolves independently to Yes if the reported price exceeds that level. If Ornn does not publish data for the specified date and time, the most recently available published data will be used for resolution. All values are based on the USD iteration of the index, rounded to two decimal places. Revisions to underlying data made after the expiration time will not be considered in resolution.

Frequently asked questions

On Kalshi, the NVIDIA RTX 5090 price market dashboard tracks real-time odds and historical price movements for this prediction contract. The interface displays current market sentiment around where NVIDIA's flagship compute GPU will trade at the close of week 32, along with 24-hour volume and liquidity metrics. Traders use this data to monitor shifting expectations as new product announcements, supply chain updates, or competitive developments emerge. The dashboard provides a transparent view of how the market is pricing this specific hardware outcome, helping participants gauge consensus and identify trading opportunities throughout the contract's lifecycle.

Prediction market odds often diverge from traditional analyst forecasts because they reflect real-money incentives and live market dynamics rather than point estimates. While financial analysts may publish price targets based on historical models and earnings projections, this market aggregates the collective judgment of traders who profit or lose based on accuracy. Analyst forecasts tend to lag market repricing during volatile periods, whereas prediction markets adjust instantly to breaking news. For hardware pricing specifically, analysts typically focus on launch timing and feature comparisons, while traders here incorporate supply constraints, competitive positioning, and demand signals that may not appear in formal research reports.

On Kalshi, this market is priced through an order-book mechanism where buyers and sellers submit bids and offers for contracts tied to the RTX 5090's end-of-week price. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The platform matches trades continuously, and the last executed price serves as the market price. Traders holding bullish views buy contracts at lower prices, while those expecting lower prices sell. The spread between bid and ask reflects uncertainty and liquidity depth. As new information surfaces—whether product reviews, competitor announcements, or supply updates—traders adjust their positions, causing the price to move and the odds to shift accordingly.

This market resolves around Aug 7, 2026, once the week concludes and the RTX 5090's price can be verified from credible public sources. The outcome is determined by comparing the actual closing price against the contract's strike levels on that date. Participants' positions settle based on whether the final price falls above or below the specified thresholds. Resolution occurs after sufficient time for price data to be confirmed and published by reputable hardware retailers, manufacturers, or financial data providers. Early resolution is possible if official pricing is announced before the end date.

Several catalysts could shift this market significantly before Aug 7, 2026. Official NVIDIA announcements regarding RTX 5090 availability, specifications, or pricing would have immediate impact. Competitor GPU launches or price cuts from AMD or Intel could pressure valuations downward. Supply chain disruptions, tariff changes, or manufacturing delays might constrain availability and push prices higher. Retail pre-order data, tech reviewer benchmarks, and enterprise demand signals all influence trader positioning. Macroeconomic shifts affecting semiconductor stocks, changes in AI infrastructure spending, or geopolitical developments affecting chip exports could also trigger repricing. Real-time tracking of these developments helps traders anticipate market moves and adjust positions accordingly.
