This event tracks the hourly rental price of NVIDIA's H100 GPU compute resources during the week of August 3-7, 2026. Participants forecast whether the price will exceed various threshold levels by 4 PM ET on August 7, 2026, based on pricing data from Ornn's cloud compute dashboard.
Resolution is determined by the NVIDIA H100 compute hourly rate published by Ornn (https://dashboard.ornnai.com/) as of August 7, 2026 at 4 PM ET. The event includes multiple price thresholds: $2.00, $2.25, $2.50, $2.75, $3.00, $3.25, $3.50, $3.75, and $4.00 per hour. Each threshold resolves independently to Yes if the reported price exceeds that level. If Ornn does not publish data for the specified date and time, the most recently available published data will be used for resolution. All values are based on the USD iteration of the index, rounded to two decimal places. Revisions to underlying data made after the expiration time will not be considered in resolution.
Prediction market odds often diverge from traditional analyst forecasts because they aggregate real-money bets rather than surveys or models. Traders in this market have direct financial incentive to price outcomes accurately, which can reveal information gaps or biases in published research. Analyst reports on semiconductor pricing may lag market developments or rely on older data, whereas this market updates instantly as new supply, demand, or competitive signals emerge. Comparing the two reveals whether professional consensus aligns with trader expectations—a useful cross-check for understanding conviction levels around H100 pricing trends.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order-book mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing different price outcomes. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each share pays out based on where H100 compute pricing settles at the end of the specified week, and the bid-ask spread reflects the current consensus range. Traders can enter or exit positions at any time during market hours, and the price discovery process naturally incorporates all available information—from earnings calls to supply chain reports to competitive announcements. Liquidity and volume determine how tightly prices cluster around fair value.
This market resolves around Aug 7, 2026, at which point the outcome is confirmed once H100 pricing data becomes verifiable from credible public sources. The resolution hinges on identifying the actual compute cost or list price for NVIDIA's H100 at the close of that week, measured against the predefined price brackets offered in the market. Traders who correctly predicted the final price band receive their payout, while incorrect positions expire worthless. The exact timing and data source are specified in the market's terms to ensure transparent, dispute-free settlement.
Several catalysts could shift this market significantly. NVIDIA earnings announcements or guidance on H100 demand and pricing strategy would likely trigger sharp repricing. Competitive moves by AMD or other chip vendors, supply-chain disruptions, or major cloud provider procurement deals could all influence perceived pricing power. Regulatory actions affecting AI compute access or export controls might also matter. Broader semiconductor industry trends—wafer capacity, memory costs, or data-center spending forecasts—filter through to H100 pricing expectations. Real-time monitoring of tech news and NVIDIA communications is essential for traders tracking momentum shifts.
