This event tracks the hourly rental price of NVIDIA's A100 GPU compute resources during the week of July 27-31, 2026. The price will be measured at 4 PM ET on July 31, 2026, using data from Ornn's pricing dashboard, which aggregates cloud compute pricing across providers.
Resolution is based on the NVIDIA A100 compute hourly price as reported by Ornn (https://dashboard.ornnai.com/) on July 31, 2026 at 4 PM ET. If Ornn has not published data for the specified date and time, the most recently available published data will be used instead. The USD iteration of the index is used, with values rounded to two decimal places. Any revisions to the underlying data made after the market expiration time are not considered for resolution purposes.
Prediction market odds often diverge from traditional analyst forecasts because they reflect real-money incentives and crowd wisdom rather than single-expert opinion. In this market, traders are wagering on actual A100 pricing at a defined moment, which can incorporate forward-looking supply-chain signals, demand shifts, and competitive pressures that analyst reports may lag. Comparing the implied probability from this market to published hardware-pricing forecasts can reveal where the crowd sees asymmetric risk—either pricing in more pessimism or optimism than consensus research suggests.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through an order-book mechanism where traders buy and sell contracts representing different price ranges or outcomes for the A100. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The bid-ask spread reflects the market's confidence in each outcome; tighter spreads indicate higher certainty, while wider spreads signal disagreement. As new information emerges—earnings calls, product announcements, or supply updates—traders adjust their positions, moving the price to reflect fresh expectations about where A100 compute costs will settle by week's end.
This market resolves around Jul 31, 2026, at which point the outcome is confirmed against credible public sources documenting NVIDIA's A100 pricing. The resolution hinges on verifying the actual compute cost or list price at the specified time, ensuring all traders have access to the same authoritative reference. Once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting, the market settles and payouts are distributed to holders of the winning outcome.
Several catalysts could shift this market significantly. NVIDIA earnings announcements or guidance on GPU supply and pricing strategy would likely trigger sharp moves. Competitor product launches or pricing changes in the high-end compute segment could alter demand expectations. Macroeconomic shifts affecting enterprise IT spending, data-center buildouts, or AI infrastructure investment would also ripple through. Additionally, supply-chain disruptions, geopolitical trade developments, or shifts in cloud-provider purchasing patterns could reshape trader expectations around A100 cost trajectories heading into Week 31.
