These markets track the hourly rental price of NVIDIA's RTX 5090 GPU compute resources during the week of July 20-24, 2026. Participants predict whether the price will exceed various thresholds ($0.50, $0.75, $1.00, $1.25, or $1.50 per hour) as measured at 4 PM ET on July 24, 2026.
Resolution is based on the NVIDIA RTX 5090 compute per-hour pricing data published by Ornn (https://dashboard.ornnai.com/) as of July 24, 2026 at 4 PM ET. If Ornn has not published data for the specified date and time, the most recently available published data will be used. The USD iteration of the index is used, with values rounded to two decimal places. Any revisions to the underlying data made after the market expiration time are not considered for resolution purposes.
Prediction market odds often diverge from traditional analyst forecasts because they aggregate real-money bets from many participants with direct financial incentives to be accurate. While analysts may rely on historical pricing patterns and manufacturer cost structures, this market incorporates forward-looking trader expectations, supply-chain signals, and competitive pressures. Analysts typically publish point estimates or ranges; prediction markets instead express consensus as probabilities across discrete price buckets. When major tech announcements or earnings reports surface, the market can reprice faster than analyst consensus updates, making it a complementary signal rather than a replacement for professional research.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through an order-book mechanism where traders buy and sell shares corresponding to different price outcomes for the RTX 5090. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each outcome contract reflects the collective belief about whether the card's price will fall within a specific range by the end of the tracking week. The bid-ask spread tightens as more traders participate, and prices adjust continuously based on new supply and demand. Kalshi's pricing model ensures that the most likely outcomes command higher share prices, while less probable scenarios trade at discounts, creating a transparent cost-of-belief system.
This market resolves around Jul 24, 2026, at which point the RTX 5090's price will be verified against credible public sources to determine the winning outcome. The resolution process confirms the actual compute GPU price at the end of that week, and traders holding shares in the correct price range receive their payouts. Until that date, prices remain fluid as new product details, retailer announcements, or competitive launches can shift expectations. The outcome is determined by observable market data rather than subjective interpretation, ensuring clarity for all participants.
Several catalysts could significantly shift prices in this market. Official NVIDIA announcements regarding RTX 5090 specifications, performance benchmarks, or launch timing would provide concrete data for repricing. Competitor GPU releases or pricing strategies from AMD or Intel could alter perceived value. Retailer pre-order information or early pricing leaks would give traders concrete anchors. Broader semiconductor supply-chain developments, tariff changes, or macroeconomic shifts affecting component costs could influence manufacturing expenses and margins. Tech media coverage, analyst downgrades or upgrades, and enterprise demand signals also shape sentiment. Any geopolitical event affecting chip exports or manufacturing capacity could create sudden repricing events.
