Prediction market odds on Polymarket often diverge from traditional polling averages because markets incorporate real-money incentives and forward-looking expectations beyond snapshot survey data. While polls measure voter preference at a single moment, prediction markets reflect traders' assessments of actual primary outcomes, including late-breaking developments, turnout dynamics, and campaign momentum. Markets typically adjust faster than polls when new information emerges. Comparing Polymarket odds to recent public polling can reveal whether traders are pricing in different assumptions about voter behavior or candidate viability than pollsters are capturing.
On Polymarket, WA-03 Primary Winners is priced through an automated market maker that converts trader activity into implied probabilities for each candidate outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The top outcome—Will Brent Hennrich advance to the general election for WA-03?—currently reflects trader conviction at a specific probability level, with prices updating in real time as buy and sell orders flow through the market. Traders purchase shares representing "yes" or "no" on each candidate's advancement, and the aggregate volume and order flow determine the final odds displayed. This mechanism ensures prices remain responsive to new information and market sentiment throughout the campaign.
