This set of markets tracks potential movements in the USD to Norwegian Krone exchange rate at a specific future moment. Each market assesses whether the rate exceeds a particular threshold, allowing participants to speculate on currency strength dynamics.
All markets resolve based on the USDNOK exchange rate's opening candlestick value at 5pm ET on September 25, 2026, as published by Pyth. Each market has a unique threshold; if the rate at that exact time is above the specified level (ranging from 9.395 to 9.433), the market resolves to Yes, otherwise to No. Data is rounded to four decimal places. If Pyth lacks data at 5pm ET, the most recent available value before that time is used. Post-expiration revisions to the exchange rate do not affect resolution outcomes.
Currently, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than many traditional analyst forecasts for the USDNOK exchange rate. While analysts often provide point estimates or ranges, this market aggregates the collective wisdom of traders, expressing uncertainty as probabilities. If analysts generally predict a specific direction for the exchange rate, this market may show a wider range of potential outcomes, or even a contrary view, depending on the traders’ assessment of risks and opportunities. It’s important to consider both sources of information when forming your own opinion.
On Kalshi, this market is priced using a continuous double auction, meaning traders can buy and sell contracts representing their belief about the USDNOK exchange rate at any time. The price of these contracts fluctuates based on supply and demand, reflecting the collective expectations of all participants. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The closer we get to the resolution date, the more the price will likely converge towards the actual exchange rate, as uncertainty decreases and traders refine their predictions. The current market price reflects the aggregated probability of the exchange rate being above or below a certain level.
This market resolves around Sep 25, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the market will resolve based on the USDNOK exchange rate as reported by a widely recognized financial data provider at 5:00 PM EDT on September 25th. The contract will pay out $1.00 to the winning side – those who correctly predicted whether the exchange rate will be above or below the specified level at the designated time. Traders should monitor the market closely as the resolution date approaches.
Several factors could significantly influence the USDNOK exchange rate and, consequently, this market. Major economic data releases from the United States or Norway, such as inflation reports, employment figures, or GDP growth, could trigger substantial price movements. Unexpected geopolitical events, shifts in global risk sentiment, or changes in monetary policy by the Federal Reserve or Norges Bank are also potential catalysts. Furthermore, any significant news related to oil prices, given Norway’s role as a major oil producer, could impact the exchange rate and the trading activity in this market.
