This set of markets tracks the performance of the USD to INR exchange rate at a specific future date and time. Each market has a different threshold value, and the outcome depends on whether the exchange rate exceeds that threshold at the specified moment.
All markets resolve based on the USDINR exchange rate's opening candlestick value at 5pm ET on September 4, 2026, as published by Pyth. Each market has a unique threshold; if the rate is above its respective threshold at that time, the market resolves to Yes, otherwise to No. Data is rounded to four decimal places. If Pyth does not publish data at exactly 5pm ET, the most recent available value before that time is used. Any revisions to the exchange rate after the expiration time are disregarded when determining the resolution.
Compared to traditional analyst forecasts, prediction market odds for this market often reflect a more immediate, crowd-sourced view of expectations. While analysts may incorporate macro models and long-term trends, traders in this market price in shorter-term sentiment, recent economic data, and market movements. This can lead to divergence, especially when unexpected news breaks close to Sep 4, 2026. Still, both sources often highlight similar drivers, such as monetary policy or global risk appetite.
On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. On Kalshi, traders set the odds through buying and selling contracts that represent the two possible outcomes. The current implied probability reflects the collective judgment of participants about where the USDINR exchange rate will land at 5:00 PM EDT on Sep 04. As new information emerges — like RBI or Fed policy updates, or shifts in global risk sentiment — the price adjusts dynamically based on supply and demand for each outcome.
This market resolves around Sep 4, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public sources. At 5:00 PM EDT on Sep 04, the closing USDINR exchange rate will be recorded from authoritative financial data providers. The contract will settle based on whether that rate meets the specified threshold, closing all positions and determining final payouts for participants.
Key signals that could shift this market include upcoming monetary policy announcements from the Reserve Bank of India or the Federal Reserve, changes in global risk sentiment affecting currency flows, and major economic data releases such as U.S. or Indian inflation figures. Geopolitical developments and commodity price swings may also influence trader sentiment. Any surprise policy moves or sharp market volatility close to Sep 4, 2026 are likely to create rapid shifts in odds.
