The markets track the exchange rate between US dollars and Brazilian reais at a specific future moment. Each market checks whether the rate exceeds a particular threshold, allowing participants to speculate on currency value movements.
All markets resolve based on the opening candlestick value of the USDBRL exchange rate published by Pyth at 5pm ET on August 28, 2026. Each market has a unique threshold, ranging from 5.137 to 5.175, and resolves to 'Yes' if the rate at that time is above its respective threshold, otherwise 'No.' Data rounding assumes four decimal places. If Pyth data is unavailable at the exact time, the most recent available value is used. Post-expiration revisions to the exchange rate do not affect resolution.
While traditional analysts may issue forecasts based on economic models, this market offers a real-time gauge of crowd-sourced expectations. Traders on Kalshi adjust their positions based on emerging news, policy signals, and market sentiment. Comparing these odds to analyst reports can reveal divergences in outlook, highlighting areas where public traders are more optimistic or pessimistic than established experts.
On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. On Kalshi, prices are set through continuous trading where participants buy and sell contracts representing possible outcomes. The current top outcome reflects the aggregate assessment of all traders, with odds adjusting dynamically based on trading volume and new information. This mechanism captures market participants’ collective prediction of where the exchange rate will land.
This market resolves around Aug 28, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Traders will see the final result reflected automatically after the platform confirms the official closing price, allowing all participants to settle their positions based on the actual market close.
