This market will resolve to "Yes" if the official closing price for Tesla, Inc. (TSLA) on June 8 is higher than the listed price. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No." If the final session is shortened (for example, due to a market-holiday schedule), the official closing price published for that shortened session will still be used for resolution. If no official closing price is published for that session (for example, due to a trading halt into the close, system issue, delisting, or other disruption), the market will use the last valid on-exchange trade price of the regular session as the effective closing price. In the event of a stock split, reverse stock split, or similar corporate action affecting the listed company during the listed time frame, this market will resolve based on split-adjusted prices as displayed on Yahoo Finance. The target price will be adjusted proportionally to reflect any stock splits. Resolution will be based on the historical price data as shown on Yahoo Finance after any adjustments have been applied. The resolution source for this market is Yahoo Finance, specifically the Tesla, Inc. (TSLA) "Close" prices available at https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/TSLA/history, published under "Historical Prices."
Prediction market odds on Polymarket reflect real-money trader conviction and often diverge from traditional Wall Street analyst price targets. While equity analysts publish consensus estimates based on fundamental models and earnings forecasts, prediction markets incorporate forward-looking sentiment, options positioning, and macroeconomic expectations. The market-implied probability for TSLA closing above the threshold can serve as a reality check against analyst consensus, though they measure different things. Analysts focus on fair value; traders price in probability-weighted outcomes. Comparing the two perspectives helps identify where professional opinion and crowd wisdom align or conflict on Tesla's near-term stock performance.
The market resolves at Jun 8, 2026, when the trading day closes and Tesla's official closing price is recorded. The outcome is determined by whether TSLA's closing price on that date is above or below the specified threshold. Once the market close data is confirmed, the contract settles automatically, and traders holding the winning outcome receive their payout. The resolution is objective and based on publicly available stock-price data, eliminating ambiguity about the final result.
Key catalysts include Tesla earnings reports, delivery or production announcements, CEO commentary on profitability or new products, and broader EV-market developments. Macroeconomic shifts—interest-rate decisions, inflation data, or recession signals—directly affect growth-stock valuations. Regulatory news on EV subsidies or autonomous-vehicle policy can swing sentiment. Competitive announcements from legacy automakers or EV rivals may pressure Tesla's relative valuation. Technical levels and options expiry dates can create short-term momentum. Geopolitical events affecting supply chains or China operations also matter. Traders monitor these signals continuously, repricing the contract as new information emerges and adjusting their probability assessment of TSLA hitting the target price by June 8.
