This market will resolve to "Yes" if the official "Close" price for SPY (SPY) on the trading day specified in the title is strictly higher than the price specified in the title. A "Close" exactly equal to the specified price resolves to "No". If the market is not open on the specified day (exchange holiday or unscheduled closure), or SPY (SPY) does not trade at all during that day's regular session, this market resolves 50-50 — each side is paid at half value; this is not a refund. In the event of a stock split, reverse stock split, or similar corporate action affecting SPY (SPY), this market resolves on split-adjusted prices, and the price specified in the title is adjusted proportionally. The resolution source for this market is Yahoo Finance, specifically the SPY (SPY) "Close" prices available at https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/SPY/ under "Historical Prices". If that data is unavailable due to an outage or other technical disruption, the official price published by the primary exchange on which SPY (SPY) trades governs.

Currently, it’s important to note that this market reflects the collective wisdom of traders on Opinion. Comparing these odds to traditional analyst forecasts reveals how public sentiment differs from expert opinions. If analysts are largely bearish on the SPY’s performance by Sep 28, 2026, but this market shows a higher probability of the SPY being above its current price, it suggests traders believe factors not fully captured by conventional analysis may come into play. This divergence can highlight potentially overlooked opportunities or risks.
On Opinion, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell contracts representing their belief about whether the SPY will be above its current price on September 28, 2026. The price of these contracts directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome. On Opinion, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market dynamically adjusts as traders react to new information and changing conditions, creating a real-time assessment of future expectations. This differs from static polls, as the price reflects the strength of conviction behind each trade.
This market resolves around Sep 28, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on whether the SPY closes above its current price on that date. The final price will be sourced from standard financial data providers and will be publicly available. Traders will then be able to see whether their predictions aligned with the actual market performance, and payouts will be distributed accordingly based on their positions in this market.
Several factors could significantly impact this market before Sep 28, 2026. Major economic data releases, such as inflation reports, GDP growth figures, and employment numbers, will likely influence trader sentiment. Unexpected geopolitical events or shifts in Federal Reserve policy could also trigger substantial price movements. Company earnings reports from large SPY constituents and broader market corrections or rallies are additional catalysts to watch. Any news that alters the perceived risk or growth outlook for the US economy could drive activity in this market.
