This set of markets tracks where the S&P 500 index will close on a specific date, dividing possible outcomes into narrow, consecutive value ranges. Each market corresponds to one of these ranges, allowing participants to speculate on the precise level of the index at the close of trading. The resolution depends solely on the official index value at the specified time.
Each market resolves based on the end-of-day value of the S&P 500 index on September 28, 2026, at 4pm EDT, with specific numerical ranges defined for each market. If the index closes within a market's designated range, that market resolves to Yes; all others resolve to No. All markets close on September 28, 2026, and expire either when the index value is officially released or one week after the close, whichever comes first. The Exchange has applied modifications to the Source Agency and Underlying for index markets as per the Kalshi Rulebook, but these do not alter the core resolution mechanics described above. The structure ensures mutually exclusive outcomes, with exactly one market resolving to Yes based on the actual index level.
