This market tracks whether Person F will become the new Republican nominee for Senate in South Carolina. On Polymarket, the current probability that Person F will be the nominee stands at 99.6%, while Ralph Norman has a 0.4% chance. The market resolution will follow the official results announced by the South Carolina Republican Party. Watch for the special primary scheduled for August 25, 2026, as this will be the key catalyst for resolution.
This market will resolve according to the winner of the special Republican Primary for United States Senator from South Carolina, including any potential runoff. If no 2026 special South Carolina Republican Senate Primary takes place by November 2, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve according to the candidate who is the official Republican nominee to contest the November 3, 2026 South Carolina U.S. Senate election. If the results of the special primary are not definitively known, or if there is no Republican nominee to contest the November 3, 2026 South Carolina U.S. Senate election, by November 2, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "Other". The resolution source for this market will be the first announcement of the results from the South Carolina Republican party, however an overwhelming consensus of credible reporting may suffice.
Prediction markets and traditional polls measure candidate strength differently. Polls capture voter preference at a single moment, while this market reflects traders' aggregated beliefs about the actual nomination outcome, incorporating both polling data and other signals like fundraising, endorsements, and campaign momentum. Market odds often diverge from polls because traders have financial incentives to forecast accurately. If you see this market pricing a candidate significantly higher or lower than recent polling suggests, it may indicate traders are pricing in information or momentum shifts that surveys haven't yet captured. Both data sources offer value when evaluated together.
This market resolves around Aug 25, 2026, once the Republican primary election in South Carolina concludes and the winner is verifiable from credible public reporting. The outcome is determined by which candidate receives the most votes in the official primary vote count. Resolution does not depend on general election results, endorsements, or any other subsequent events—only the primary winner matters. Once the vote is certified and reported by state election authorities, the market will settle accordingly, paying out traders who correctly predicted the nominee.
Several catalysts could shift odds before Aug 25, 2026. Major endorsements from national Republican figures or sitting senators often move markets sharply. Fundraising reports and cash-on-hand disclosures signal candidate viability and can trigger repricing. Debate performances, campaign gaffes, or media coverage can sway trader sentiment quickly. Polling releases—especially from reputable firms—frequently correlate with market moves. Candidate withdrawals or surprise entries would reset the entire race. Local South Carolina political developments, voter registration trends, and turnout expectations also influence trader positioning. Watch for any announcement that changes the perceived path to victory for leading contenders.
