This market will resolve to "Up" if the close price is greater than or equal to the open price for the SOL/USDT 1 hour candle that begins on the time and date specified in the title. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "Down". The resolution source for this market is information from Binance, specifically the SOL/USDT pair (https://www.binance.com/en/trade/SOL_USDT). The close « C » and open « O » displayed at the top of the graph for the relevant "1H" candle will be used once the data for that candle is finalized. Please note that this market is about the price according to Binance SOL/USDT, not according to other exchanges or trading pairs.
Prediction market odds on Polymarket reflect aggregated trader expectations about Solana's price direction by May 31, 4PM ET, which may differ from current spot price momentum or technical analysis. While spot markets react to immediate supply and demand, prediction markets incorporate longer-term sentiment and event risk. Comparing Polymarket odds to analyst forecasts, on-chain metrics, and macro sentiment can reveal whether traders are pricing in bullish or bearish catalysts that spot traders may not yet be fully reflecting.
On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. On Polymarket, the Solana Up or Down - May 31, 4PM ET contract is priced as a binary outcome with two competing shares: one for an up move and one for a down move. The current implied probability for each outcome is displayed as a percentage, updated continuously as traders buy and sell shares. Prices are determined by an automated market maker or order book mechanism, where the spread between bid and ask reflects liquidity and uncertainty. As the resolution date approaches, prices typically converge toward either extreme as conviction strengthens.
Several catalysts could shift Solana's price direction before May 31, 4PM ET: major network upgrades or outages, regulatory announcements affecting crypto markets, macroeconomic data and Federal Reserve policy shifts, Bitcoin price movements (which often lead altcoins), venture funding or partnership news, and changes in developer activity or ecosystem growth. On-chain metrics such as transaction volume and validator participation may also influence trader sentiment. Geopolitical events and broader risk-on or risk-off sentiment in equities can trigger correlated moves across digital assets.
