Otherwise, it will resolve to "Down". The resolution source for this market is information from Chainlink, specifically the SOL/USD data stream available at https://data.chain.link/streams/sol-usd. Please note that this market is about the price according to Chainlink data stream SOL/USD, not according to other sources or spot markets.

Prediction market odds reflect what traders collectively believe will happen, based on real money at stake. Unlike spot price alone, which shows only the current SOL exchange rate, this market aggregates forward-looking sentiment about directional movement over a specific four-hour period. Traders who expect upward momentum buy up shares, pushing odds higher; those anticipating a decline do the opposite. This market-derived probability often diverges from analyst forecasts or social media sentiment because it carries financial consequences. Comparing these odds to traditional price analysis can reveal whether the crowd is pricing in known catalysts or overlooking emerging signals.
On Polymarket, traders set the odds by buying and selling binary outcome shares in an automated market maker (AMM) system. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each share represents a claim on either an up or down outcome, and the price of each reflects the collective probability assigned by the market. As more capital flows into one side, the price of that outcome rises and the opposing outcome falls, maintaining a dynamic equilibrium. This continuous repricing mechanism ensures the market remains responsive to new information and trading activity throughout the event window.
This market resolves around Jul 10, 2026, once the four-hour trading window closes and the final SOL price movement can be verified. The outcome is determined by comparing the opening price at 4:00 PM ET on July 9 to the closing price at 8:00 PM ET that same day. If SOL trades higher at the close, the up outcome wins; if it trades lower, the down outcome prevails. Resolution is confirmed once the price data is verifiable from credible public sources, at which point winnings are distributed to holders of the correct outcome share.
Major catalysts include Solana ecosystem announcements, broader cryptocurrency market movements, macroeconomic data releases, and regulatory news affecting digital assets. Bitcoin and Ethereum price action often correlate strongly with SOL, so volatility in those markets can shift sentiment quickly. On-chain metrics such as network activity, validator performance, or developer activity may also influence trader expectations. Additionally, social media trends, exchange listings or delistings, and statements from Solana Foundation leadership can trigger rapid repricing. Traders monitor these signals continuously to adjust positions ahead of the 8:00 PM ET close.
