This set of markets tracks the precise closing price of silver at a specific moment, using one-minute candlestick data for October 05, 2026 at 5:00 PM EDT. Each market checks whether the price exceeds a different threshold, allowing for detailed speculation on where the price will fall within a range at that exact timestamp.
All markets resolve based on the closing price of the 1-minute candlestick for silver at 5:00 PM EDT on October 05, 2026. The settlement value is determined by the price at the end of the immediately preceding one-minute interval (i.e., the candlestick timestamped 4:59 PM). Prices are rounded to the nearest two decimal places. If no data is published for the specified time, the most recently available published data is used to resolve all markets. Each individual market resolves to 'Yes' if the closing price exceeds its specified threshold (ranging from $56.00 to $65.75 per troy ounce), and 'No' otherwise.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book, where traders buy and sell contracts representing their beliefs about the silver price. The price of these contracts fluctuates based on supply and demand, creating a real-time probability distribution. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders are incentivized to offer accurate predictions, as profitable trades are rewarded. The current market price reflects the collective wisdom of participants, indicating the likelihood of different price levels at the specified resolution date. This dynamic pricing mechanism allows for a fluid and responsive assessment of potential silver price movements.
This market resolves around Oct 5, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the silver price at 5:00 PM EDT on that date is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the closing price of silver as reported by a widely recognized financial data source. The market will then determine whether the silver price was above or below the threshold defined by the available contracts. This process ensures a transparent and objective determination of the market’s outcome, based on publicly available data.
Several factors could significantly influence this market. Major economic reports, such as inflation data or interest rate decisions, often impact precious metal prices. Geopolitical events, including trade disputes or political instability, can also drive demand for silver as a safe-haven asset. Unexpected changes in industrial demand, particularly from sectors like electronics and solar energy, could also shift the market. Finally, significant shifts in investor sentiment, driven by news or analysis, could lead to substantial price movements in this market.
