This event determines which price range Shiba Inu will fall within on June 12, 2026 at 5pm EDT. Traders select a specific price band, and the market resolves to Yes if the cryptocurrency's price lands within that range at the specified time.
Resolution is determined by the simple average of 60 consecutive prices from CF Benchmarks' Shiba Inu-Dollar Spot Rate (SHIBUSD_RTI) collected in the 60 seconds immediately before 5 PM EDT on June 12, 2026. Each outcome represents a distinct price range; the market resolves to Yes for the outcome whose range contains the averaged price. The ranges partition the price spectrum from below $0.0000005 up to $0.0000135 and above, with each range spanning approximately $0.0000005 in width. For instance, the $0.0000005 to $0.000000999 outcome resolves Yes if the average price falls between those bounds (inclusive of the lower bound, exclusive of the upper), while the $0.0000135 or above outcome resolves Yes if the average price exceeds $0.000013499. CF Benchmarks' RTI is the authoritative price source, and the final resolution price is the mean of all 60 RTI data points collected during the specified 60-second window.
Prediction market odds on this contract reveal what traders collectively expect SHIB to be worth on the settlement date, often diverging from current spot prices due to time horizon and volatility assumptions. While spot exchanges show today's price, this market prices in months of potential price movement, regulatory shifts, and broader crypto sentiment. Comparing the implied price range from market odds to analyst forecasts and on-chain metrics can highlight whether traders are pricing in bullish or bearish scenarios relative to consensus expectations.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through an order-book mechanism where traders buy and sell contracts representing different SHIB price ranges, with the bid-ask spread reflecting uncertainty around the June 2026 settlement level. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The platform's matching engine continuously updates odds as new orders flow in, so the price you see reflects the marginal trader's view at that instant. Wider spreads typically indicate higher disagreement about where SHIB will land, while tighter spreads suggest stronger consensus.
This market resolves around Jun 12, 2026, at which point the outcome is confirmed by verifying SHIB's price against credible public sources at that specific time. Once the settlement moment passes and the price is established, the contract pays out according to which range bracket the actual price falls into. Traders holding the winning outcome receive their payout, while those on losing brackets forfeit their stake.
Major catalysts for this market include regulatory announcements affecting Shiba Inu or the broader crypto sector, shifts in Bitcoin and Ethereum prices, developments in SHIB's ecosystem (such as Shibarium upgrades or partnerships), and macroeconomic events influencing risk appetite. Social media momentum and whale wallet activity can also drive short-term repricing. Traders monitor on-chain metrics, exchange inflows, and sentiment indicators to adjust their positions as new information surfaces closer to the June 2026 settlement date.
