This market tracks which political party will secure the second-most seats in the next Russian parliamentary election. Currently, Polymarket gives an 89.5% probability to the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (KPRF) achieving this outcome, while the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR) is at 6.3%. Resolution will be based on a consensus of credible reporting, prioritizing official results from the Russian Central Election Commission. Keep an eye on the lead-up to the election itself, as the final results – and therefore this market – will be determined following the parliamentary elections scheduled for September 20, 2026.
Parliamentary elections are scheduled to be held in Russia in September 2026. This market will resolve according to the political party that wins the second greatest number of seats in the next Russian State Duma election. If the results are not known definitively by September 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "Other". The named parties or coalitions will be primarily ranked by the number of seats won in the specified election. If two or more parties are tied on seats, ties will be broken by the total number of valid votes received, with higher vote totals ranking higher. If parties remain tied, ties will be broken by alphabetical order of the listed party abbreviations. This market will resolve to the party that occupies the second finishing position after applying this ranking. This market's resolution will be based solely on the number of seats won by the named party in the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation. This market will resolve based on the results of this election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results reported by Russian government sources such as the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation. Note: If a listed party contests the election as part of a jointly listed coalition with one or more parties not listed in this market, the market corresponding to the listed party will represent the coalition and will count all seats won by the coalition collectively. If two or more listed parties contest the election as a jointly listed coalition, with or without additional parties not listed in this market, the market corresponding to the party within that coalition that won the most seats in the previous election will represent the coalition and will count all seats won by the coalition collectively. If such a coalition dissolves, each market will again represent its respective party individually.
Currently, prediction market odds suggest a high probability of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (KPRF) securing the second-most seats. This contrasts with some polling data, which indicates a tighter race between several parties. It’s important to remember that polls capture a snapshot in time and are subject to methodological limitations, while this market reflects a continuous assessment of all available information by a diverse group of traders. The market may incorporate factors not fully captured in traditional polls, such as strategic voting or late-breaking developments.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more traders believe an outcome is likely, the higher the price of its shares will climb, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing reflects the collective wisdom of the crowd and adjusts rapidly to new information and changing perceptions about the Russian parliamentary election outcome.
This market resolves around Sep 20, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the official results of the Russian parliamentary election are verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on which party ultimately secures the second-highest number of seats in the State Duma, as determined by the Central Election Commission of Russia. The market will then settle to 100% for the winning party and 0% for all others, reflecting the final, official election results.
Several factors could significantly influence this market. Major political endorsements, unexpected scandals involving key candidates, or shifts in public opinion revealed by late-stage polling could all trigger price movements. Any changes to the electoral laws or procedures, or credible reports of irregularities in the election process, would also likely have a substantial impact. Furthermore, geopolitical events or significant economic developments in Russia could alter voter sentiment and, consequently, the trading activity in this market.
