Parliamentary elections are scheduled to be held in Russia on September 20, 2026. This market will resolve according to the political party that receives the second greatest number of votes on the federal party-list ballot in the federal city of Moscow in the 2026 Russian State Duma election. The named parties will be primarily ranked by the number of valid votes received on the federal party-list ballot within the federal city of Moscow. If two or more parties are tied on votes, ties will be broken by alphabetical order of the listed party abbreviations. This market will resolve to the party that occupies the second finishing position after applying this ranking. Votes will be counted only where the official results attribute them to the named party. Votes attributed to another party or electoral designation will not count, regardless of electoral cooperation, endorsements, coalition agreements, or subsequent parliamentary-group arrangements. If a named party formally merges into a successor party before the election and does not contest separately, votes officially attributed to that successor party will count. If the results of this election are not definitively known by September 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to “Other”. This market will resolve based on the results of this election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results reported by Russian government sources such as the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation.

Currently, the implied probability of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (KPRF) finishing second is significantly higher on Polymarket than recent polling averages suggest. While polls indicate a more competitive race for second place, this market demonstrates strong conviction that KPRF will secure the position. This discrepancy could reflect the market’s assessment of potential polling inaccuracies, voter turnout models, or unquantifiable factors not captured in traditional surveys. It’s important to remember that prediction markets represent a different form of information aggregation than polls, incorporating a wider range of insights and incentives.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as determined by supply and demand. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more traders believe a particular party will finish second, the higher the price of shares representing that outcome will climb. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market reflects the collective wisdom of the crowd, constantly updating as new information becomes available and traders adjust their positions.
This market resolves around Sep 20, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the official results of the Moscow party-list vote are announced and verifiable from credible public reporting. The market will settle based on which party receives the second-highest number of votes in Moscow, as determined by the official election authorities. Traders should monitor official sources for the final vote count to understand how this market will be settled. The resolution process relies on publicly available data to ensure transparency and accuracy.
Several factors could significantly impact this market. Major developments in the political landscape, such as unexpected endorsements, scandals involving key candidates, or shifts in public opinion revealed through late-stage polling, could all cause price fluctuations. Additionally, any news regarding potential electoral interference or irregularities could introduce volatility. Finally, broader geopolitical events or economic changes within Russia could also influence trader sentiment and move this market. Monitoring these factors will be crucial for understanding potential shifts in the predicted outcome.
