Description

This market will resolve to "Up" if the official Russell 2000 Index closing price for Russell 2000 (RUT) on Thursday, June 11, 2026 is higher than the official Russell 2000 Index closing price for RUT on the most recent prior trading day. This market will resolve to "Down" if the official Russell 2000 Index closing price for Russell 2000 (RUT) on Thursday, June 11, 2026 is lower than the official Russell 2000 Index closing price for RUT on the most recent prior trading day. E.g., ordinarily, a market on Monday would refer to the previous Friday for its most recent closing price, unless that Friday were a market holiday, in which case it would refer to Thursday, or the next most recent trading day. If the two specified closing prices are exactly equal, this market will resolve 50-50. Note that all figures will be rounded to the nearest cent using standard rounding. If RUT does not trade at all during the regular session, the market will resolve 50-50. If either of the relevant days are shortened (for example, due to a market holiday schedule), the official closing price published by Russell 2000 Index for that shortened session will still be used for resolution. If either of the relevant days have no official closing price (for example, due to a trading halt into the market close, system issue, delisting, or other disruption), the market will use the last valid on-exchange trade price of the regular session as the effective closing price. The resolution source for this market is the Wall Street Journal, specifically the Close values published by the WSJ under "Historical Prices". Comparing Polymarket odds to published analyst sentiment reveals whether traders are pricing in more bullish or bearish outcomes than Wall Street consensus.

On Polymarket, the RUT directional outcome is priced as binary contracts reflecting the probability of an up or down close on June 11. Traders buy and sell shares at prices between 0 and 1 cent, with the winning outcome settling at 1 cent. Higher prices indicate stronger conviction that RUT will move in that direction by the resolution date.

The market resolves at Jun 11, 2026. Resolution is determined by the official closing price of the Russell 2000 index on June 11. The outcome depends on whether RUT closes above or below its opening level on that date, reflecting aggregate performance of the approximately 2,000 small-cap stocks in the index. Market participants should monitor economic data releases, Federal Reserve communications, and earnings reports in the days leading up to resolution, as these factors typically drive small-cap volatility and directional bias.

Key catalysts include Federal Reserve policy signals, inflation and employment data, corporate earnings surprises, and geopolitical developments. Small-cap stocks are particularly sensitive to interest-rate expectations and credit conditions, so any Fed communication or economic report could shift market sentiment. Sector-specific news in technology, financials, and industrials—which comprise significant RUT weightings—may drive directional moves. Additionally, broader market risk-on or risk-off dynamics, yield curve movements, and dollar strength can influence small-cap relative performance heading into June 11.
