The second round of the 2026 Peruvian presidential elections were held on June 7, 2026. This market will resolve to "Yes" if the National Jury of Elections of Peru (Jurado Nacional de Elecciones, JNE) publishes a proclamation of election results (proclamación de resultados) for the second round of the 2026 Peruvian presidential elections by the listed date, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". If the results of the second round of the 2026 Peruvian presidential elections are invalidated or annulled, or a new general election or runoff is officially scheduled by the relevant Peruvian authorities by July 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, in a manner that explicitly supersedes or replaces the June 7, 2026, election, this market will resolve to "No". Any official proclamation from the JNE which specifies the results of the second round of the 2026 Peruvian presidential elections will qualify for the purposes of this market. An example from 2021 can be found here: https://portal.jne.gob.pe/portal_documentos/files/637a2dda-73ba-4abc-95bf-294f14d454bb.pdf. The primary resolution source will be information from the Peruvian government, including the JNE.

Prediction market odds on Polymarket reflect traders' expectations about JNE certification timing, which differs fundamentally from traditional polling. While polls measure voter preferences for candidates, this market prices the probability of an institutional deadline being met. Market odds incorporate legal timelines, historical JNE performance, and political risk factors that polls do not capture. Divergence between market prices and analyst forecasts often signals uncertainty about Peru's electoral administration or potential legal challenges.
On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market on Polymarket prices the likelihood of JNE certification by the specified date as a binary outcome. Traders buy and sell shares representing yes or no positions, with the price reflecting the collective probability estimate. Higher prices indicate stronger confidence in timely certification. Liquidity and trading volume on Polymarket determine how easily participants can enter or exit positions, and price discovery reflects real-time updates on Peru's electoral calendar and institutional capacity.
The market resolves on Jul 28, 2026, after which the outcome is determined by whether the JNE has officially certified the second-round presidential election results by the contractual deadline. Resolution depends on official announcements from Peru's electoral authorities and documented certification dates. The binary structure means the market settles yes if certification occurs on time, or no if it does not or is delayed beyond the specified date.
Key catalysts include official JNE statements on certification timelines, legal challenges to election results, political disputes between candidates, changes in Peru's electoral administration leadership, and international observer reports. Delays in vote tabulation or audit processes could reduce certification odds. Conversely, smooth vote counting and early official announcements would increase market confidence. Media coverage of Peru's institutional capacity and historical precedent for timely certification also influences trader sentiment and price movements.
